We have all seen the heart rending, distressing and awful images and videos coming out of the Ukraine. Watching a terrible and unjust event happening before our eyes. Feeling as though we are too far removed, wanting to help but feeling impotent and unable to know how to help in this grave and frightening time.
It was such a discussion about these very issues between Dianne Bowell and myself which led to us thinking just what ‘can we do’? We decided that one way in which we and hopefully the great art community of this region can help is to hold an Art auction ,with ALL proceeds going to a Ukrainian Charity to ensure that the proceeds go directly to the people who need it most as quickly and directly as possible.
On the evening of Saturday 2nd April at a special event at Python Gallery, we will be auctioning the incredible artwork of the many generous Teesside artists who have kindly donated their artwork for this auction.
The gallery isn’t taking a percentage from any sales and we are both donating work and our time to making this event happen.
The event will be happening from 6pm on the 2nd of April at Python Gallery – Boho Zero, 21 Gosford Street, Middlesbrough, TS21BB.
We would love to have a large audience as possible to support this cause, currently so close to all of our hearts, if you know anyone else who may be interested please pass on this information.
