Is Tyson Fury the biggest fraud in boxing?

If you read his book, he is quite open and honest that the boxing theatrics are all about generating interest in the fightes and therefore generating money. I keep saying this. Yet many people believe the nonsense.
I would say he's got this wrong. Hasn't read the room. Still losing support. Comes across obnoxious and disrespectful.

Still a long way to go on this. We are currently at the stage we were at with Joshua. A verbal agreement on purse split and venue. They've had an extension from the WBA to get a contract agreed, let's see if it happens. I see Fury has started with his tick tock bollix again.

Looks more likely than it did earlier in the week but this isn't confirmed yet.

IF this fight fight happens, I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong about Fury running from the fight. But I would still stick by opinion that he is a walking contradiction and bad for the sport.

He surely can’t be bad for the sport - good or bad publicity shines a light on boxing. As well as a skilled boxer he’s the king of the kind games.

If mind games and social media rants is your thing, then you may consider he's good for the sport. Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are good at that as well.. I don't.

If you want to see the best fights, then he is bad for the sport. IF this fight happens, it is because Usyk is willing to to put Sporting Glory in front financial gain and that is a credit to him. There's not many others that would. We are 7 weeks out from the new proposed date (2 months after the first one) and there still isn't a contract signed. It may or may not happen, I still think it won't. I think they've put out what they have put out yesterday to keep it alive with the WBA. Make it look close so they don't order the mandatory and make him vacate. This should be signed already.

When AJ fought Usyk was there any of this drama? The answer is no. They got to the table, made a deal that worked for both and got it on. Twice. There was no risk of collapse. It didn't take anything away from the fight. The fights were still epic. The hype was still there. Its unnecessary

Clueless.

Clueless.
All I'm going to say is we are currently at this stage... and we know how that turned out. And there's less time on side this time

There's still work to be done to get this fight on.

FMTTM when Fury beats Usuk:

“Until he beats Paul Butlin his CV just doesn’t match up to AJ’s”

I just can’t agree taht Tyson is bad for boxing - his trilogy with wilder puts him ahead of the current crop for entertainment stakes. The Joshua fights with usyk were snooze fests in comparison. Tyson is great for the heavyweight division despite the antics imho.

The Wilder fights were incredible. Fury was unbelievable in all 3 fights. But wilder played his part. As the old saying goes, styles make fights and Wilder brought out the best in Fury. Wilder is thst sort of fighter he's there to be hit but can bang back. He's like a Hollywood fighter.

I don't agree that the Joshua fights with Usyk were a snooze fest. Usyk was top quality in the both fights and was a joy to watch. AJ poor in the first fight but I believe he was getting bad advice from his corner. They were telling him he was in front. AJ imposed himself a bit more in the second fight but Usyk showed his superiority, I thought the second was a really good fight.

On the other hand the Joshua VK fight was ten times more entertaining than the Fury VK fight. The Fury fight was a snooze fest. Two rangey fighters that tried to jab their way to victory and spoil as much as possible. This isn't me saying AJ is any way better than Fury, because I don't think he's the same level, but more that styles do make fights.

I think the Usyk/Fury fight, if happens, could go more the way of the Fury/VK fight. I think Fury will look to pick off from range and will cling when usyk gets inside. I personally think Usyk is good enough to make Fury miss on the way in and still score shots and make it a close fight. I dont think we are going to see it turn into a slug fest like the Fury/Wilder fights or AJ/VK fight.

To go back to the comment about him being bad for boxing, it's not in regard to his boxing style or skill level at all. It's about his attitude. Just give the man a fair deal and make sure the fight happens. The fight is still at risk and that is down to Fury's greed. If they do get the fight deal done, it is a testament to Usyk and his ambition to be the first man to be undisputed at two weight divisions.

Fury's approach to the VK fight was no surprise - he had fought like that in quite a few fights. He had a fairly similar approach in the 1st Wilder fight. The subsequent change to a much more attacking style of fighting in the 2nd and 3rd fights shows that he can fight both ways and was similar to how he fought earlier in his career. I personally would expect him to fight the same aggressive way in the Usyk fight.

The most outspoken and controversial boxers are like that to get people to talk about them. That is not bad for boxing - it is selling the show. Most people don't want their boxers to have the personality of beige wallpaper - and if they did, they would not generate as mush interest and not generate as much money. Some people might not like this, because they somehow mistake the showmanship and bravado for real.

He can fight both ways for sure. It would be a mistake for him to come out too aggressive against Usyk. Usyk is good enough to avoid the big shots and let him gas himself out. I think he'll fight at range and it's probably the best strategy for him. Usyk has proven his chin, even in the heavyweight division. He's taken big shots from and AJ and Chisora and still stayed in control. AJ arguably hits harder than Fury.

Fury has never really taken fighters out with one shot, I dont think he's that heavy handed for a big heavyweight.

Saying that his detractors over the years said that someone like Wilder would walk through him which proved to be wrong. Fury hits hard enough to wear you down, its usually a gradual beating against him which is probably worse if you're on the receiving end of it.

There's maybe 9 pages of informed boxing debate, but I can't believe everyone is ignoring the real news that's breaking today on the subject of Tyson Fury.
