Italy v England in Naples

Why? This story is going to become bigger as the match gets closer, there is absolute mayhem going on in Naples at the moment with Frankfurt fans, I have just seen video after video off both sets of fans through the day either trying to get at each other or attacking the police. What stands out is the police have very little control off the situation and seems to be getting worse.
Putting our game in Naples will bring out the worst element from both sides and personally years ago I grew tired of the circus that follows England around.
It should have gone to a a place which would be easier to manage for the police.

I
Is it their decision or Italy's?
It has to be Italy's, they have given us a 2000 tickets, but that won't stop people from travelling , Frankfurt fans were banned from turning up, but on the footage I have seen there is possibly a 1000 of them in the centre of Naples. Lots of England fans as soon as they know the date and location of an away fixture, book whatever is needed, travel hotels and then wait for the tickets to be announced, if they don't get them through the travel club then it's in with the home fans.

After my experiences in Rome, I would never watch football again in Italy.

Having an international in Naples, is absolutely ludicrous especially when England are the opponents. Naturally they'll [UEFA] blame it on England fans [and Brexit] when there's hand-to-hand fighting, widespread looting and pillaging.

I went to see England play Spain in Naples in Euro 1980. It was the roughest place I have ever been to and we weren’t even playing Italy.
My mates and me were there also, we were on the Boro Supporters Club trip, organised by the late Peter Hodgson. After experiencing the Italy v England match in the same tournament, and more recently, the Boro v Roma in Rome, I can confidently say I would never go to watch a football match in Italy. This upcoming fixture in Naples will guarantee violence 😬

Nice coffee though. In the train station anyway.
That's as much as I saw of Naples whilst changing trains en route to Pompeii.

Isn't Gomorrah set in Naples?

Just a typical weekend in Naples then.

It’s a shame that Naples has this reputation. It’s a fascinating city with one of the best archeological museums in the world and hugely varied architecture. Do you research before you go and know where to avoid (not always easy as you will get lost!) and you should be ok.
