Vaping in the stadium

There is no legislation to enforce mart. It's down to each place to make and enforce rules.

Whilst the smoke from a vape is much less harmful than cigarettes it does contain particulates and nicotine. Nicotine is fairly harmless unless ingested. Not sure about the particulates and their concentration.
Not all the time. I've been vaping 6 years and I make my own E-juice. Food grade vegetable glycerine, whatever flavouring I'm trying and a bit of pharmacutical grade propelyne glycol. Not added nicotine for years.

The nicotene is potentially the least hamful ingrediant in the exhaled smoke though. I don't have any problem with people vaping.

Some of the rhetoric on this thread is ridiculous.

I’m amazed at the amount of lads who need a shïte at the game. Every time I’ve been for a pee lately the queues for the cubicles, even in the GRFZ, is staggering. Maybe the club could install more cubicles? Poor lads.

If vaping isnt allowed because its a drug, why do we allow alcohol.
To quote an earlier poster:
Its a question of willpower if they cant stay off it for two hours:unsure:

Not sure vaping is same as someone smoking, but if its banned its banned and people should follow the rules. You get the little disposable vapes that give off hardly any vapour, then you have the massive chargeable ones that look like a steam train and the 'smoke' seems to linger but still, i'd sooner sit surrounded by 1000 people vaping than 1 person smoking, the smell of that is absolutely horrendous nevermind the effects of passive smoking.

Still, rules are rules and if people can't hang about til HT for a vape/cigarette they shouldn't be coming to the football unfortunately. Not sure they'd vape/smoke in the cinema or during their kids school play? I haven't seen anyone drinking in the stands for a long time but personally i think they'll introduce some new rules/regulations on the sale of alcohol at the football soon surrounding something like no sales 10-15mins before KO, no sales at HT etc to try to keep that risk down, clubs won't like it but i feel the authorities are going to head down that route.

Didn't realise people breathing out lager fumes from their breath affected people that don't drink.

Kids shouln't have to breathe it in
Alcohol disinhibits behaviours which can increase risk to other people.
Never seen a vapourer stagger up the stairs or start effing and jeffing due to intoxication.

Kids breath in the carcinogenic exhausts from cars every day.
Havent heard much about that ozone destroying, astma-impacting pollutant?

So you are advocating a free for all on pollutants and carcinogens? If one’s allowed they all have to be allowed. Even if society is dependant on one while actively reducing it and replacing with EVs

There is little or no evidence that vaping produces carcinogens.

As I mentioned above there are particulates but I don't know to what level.

Roofie's argument is reasonable! Ask any A&E nurse or doctor which is the worst drug.

There was little or no evidence about cigarettes either. The responsibility is on the makers of these things to prove they are safe or it should be. The idea theta are 100% safe is heavily disputed

There has been a fair number of studies. Last I looked there were some doubts about unregulated flavours being used that it is unknown what heating the chemicals produces.

In their bare form the ingredients are very unlikely to produce carcinogens. It's veg fat and flavoring.

I get why people dislike it and its against the rules in the Riverside. It shouldn't happen.

The rhetoric labelling people who vape as selfish is nonsense. Some are, I am sure, same as any demographic.

We are effectively where we were 100 years ago with companies making massive profits off smoking products claiming the health benefits without any evidence. We all know how that turned out.

People who vape in designated places where it’s allowed are not. People who puff away on a train, or in a shopping mall, or a McDonald’s are.

It’s up to the vape industry to prove its products are 100% safe for users and more importantly passively. They haven’t and in fact there is clear evidence that it is harmful, to a lessor degree than cigarettes admittedly, but it is harmful.

I respect and support your right to suck whatever chemical you want into your lungs but that comes with a trade off that I get to choose not to suck your muck into mine and expect your support in that. I expect to be able to go to concerts, sports events, the pub or for a meal without being forced to take in your smoke
