Is Tyson Fury the biggest fraud in boxing?

But when Fury fought Chisora in December it was “why couldn’t he wait a few months?”

Now he’s a disgrace for not fighting on an exact date 😂

I don’t post on this thread much because it’s full of absolute nonsense but it does crack me up when I check in on it.

Does seem a bit odd - all th date demands for the Joshua fight seems like it’s fury’s playbook. Make the opponent so frustrated over the contract situation that they take the eye off the ball in terms of the fight. He did the same with Dyllian Whyte.

Big differences between that comparison and you know it

I'm not sure why everyone is so excited about it being cancelled or changed and jumping at the opportunity to slag Fury off. Just wait lads, it'll either happen or it won't. At that point if it gets cancelled fill your boots and wade in.

1. The date Fury wanted in December was clearly too quick for Usyk and he ruled himself out immediately. He wanted a break after Joshua and he proposed a date in Feb to give him chance to get ready. Fury has known about this spring fight for months.

2. Fury waiting two months for an undisputed fight instead of fighting an unranked fighter makes sense. (If he wants the fight)

3. There's now time pressure from WBA.

4. Fury has already missed the original February proposed date because he couldn't agree a deal in Middle East. Usyk was signed

5. Usyk has accepted unfavourable terms and clearly unfair to get the fight agreed quickly.

6. The April 29th date was Furys date remember, not Usyks. Its Warren's show at Wembley.

Usyk clearly has no confidence that Fury will ever agree terms and its totally understandable.

Fury should vacate the belt and stop holding things up.
Unfortunately there's no grounds for Fury to vacate/be stripped.

Firstly Usyk isnt a mandatory for his belt.

Secondly, WBC have quite loose wording regarding title defences. give 12 months between compulsory defences. They should aim to defend 3 times in a year unless written exemption is given.

Whyte was the last mandatory for the belt and obviously he beat him 12 months ago. There is no current mandatory. Ruiz is supposed to fight Wilder for that status.

There's next to no chance Fury will be stripped. He could voluntary defend against anyone as long WBC sanction it and keep the belt. This is how Wilder held it for so long.

Usyk however does not have this luxury. There's mandatories due for all of his belts. Dubois and Joyce. WBA (Dubois) due first. WBA seem to be the body that have grown impatient with the Fury/Usyk fight and have ordered the Dubois fight, if terms weren't agreed by last Friday. When the purse was provisionally agreed, they granted an extension to agree fight on the 29th April. There's no guarentee they would allow a push back in date.

I think at this point given Fury’s got Sugarhill with him and is in camp that Uysk and his
manager are also part of the problem…

Took the 70/30 offer with no intention of it getting finalised. And now scrambling. Who knows.

Sugar Hill is in the UK for the Okolie fight isn’t he? Took a single pic with Fury, on day two of the camp that Fury said is “the best he’s ever had” 🙄.

To answer the original question, is Fury the biggest fraud in boxing? No. He’s a sensational boxer. But he just talks nonsense, contradicts himself constantly and expects people to take him at face value. So while he’s definitely not the biggest fraud, he is the biggest gobshîte.

The rematch seems to be a big issue. Both parties have admitted that the rematch was included in every discussion to date until Fury announced earlier in the week he wants it removed.

Let's say Usyk begrudgingly agreed to 30% knowing that there'll be a second bite at the cherry. If he wins he is in a stronger position to negotiate better terms in the rematch or he losss and gets another fight at 20-30%.
He decides to swallow that knowing there is still big earning potential. Then, Fury throws in that there will be no rematch. That is obviously going to make that initial 30% even less attractive.

Then there's the whole boxing side of the rematch clause. It is very possible this fight goes the distance and comes down to a judges decision. In fact, in my mind that is the likeliest outcome. We've all seen bad decisions especially in favour of big names like Fury on home turf. Of course Usyk will want a rematch clause in.

Boxing shouldn't allow him to stand in the way of having an undisputed champion. This might not come in way of rules, etc - but pressure can be applied through public opinion. Most people now think that that Fury doesn't really want the Usyk fight.

The problem with Fury is that he has a history of avoiding the biggest fights. He fought Klitschko because he had to as mandatory. He didn't have anywhere else to go. He then dropped out of the rematch and has since failed to get in the ring on multiple times with his two biggest rivals - Usyk and Joshua. These fights are/were for undisputed and are the biggest in boxing. Why doesn't he want them?

Reports emerging that Fury v Usyk is off due to Fury not wanting it. Looks like Usyk is now moving on to face his mandatories.

Not sure who Fury will face, but he's obviously been faking things for some time. That's why he fought Chisora. It's just a shame for Usyk as he's pursuing greatness and has had his time wasted. Boxing fans have been cheated as well.

Yes, looking like that's it confirmed off.
