Hartlepool's league survival

1 of Wrexham/Notts County settling for play offs is ridiculous, Each league should be same number of teams, 3 go down, top 2 go up and 1 via the play offs.

Also, Pools are doomed but side note i might go to that Crawley game i reckon it'll be a HUMDINGER

Same - think I'll get along.

Yep.

They'd be better off dropping down and building a cohesive squad. The players they currently have to me seem to be cut and shut jobs and we know what happens to cars when they sort of thing happens.
It’s absolutely attritional trying to get out of the National league though. The current manager was well thought of at York and if they survive this season may be able to put foundations down. Unfortunately Singh is on his 7th manager in 3 years I think. What chance have they got?

Singh is also a problem.
Could he sell? If he did it would have to be someone with Hartlepool connections.

never once heard us boo a hartlepool score
That is because we don't view them as a threat. Hartlepool live in the shadow of Middlesbrough and must resent it in the same way we whinge on here about Tyne Tees coverage of Newcastle.

I would also say it is more of a light hearted jeer than a boo but each to their own I guess.

True, they seem to dislike us even though we like them (mainly for lending us their ground twice 37 years ago). I don't really care either way personally.
You have also got to remember a lot of our younger players have benefited and gained league experience through playing for Hartlepool. I know it goes both ways but our Charlie (Wyke) gained valuable experience that he wasn't going to get at the Boro. We need these local clubs for that and they need us to loan them young players.

They lent us it once. The second game people remember from the start of that season was just a quirky coincidence it was their home leg of a league cup first round tie. Not that I’m not grateful.

Gillingham were rock bottom at Xmas - signed ten new players in January thanks to their new American owner and have shot up the table.

Pools look doomed I'm afraid to say. They just can't seem to buy a win. Quite sad about Rochdale as well, one of the stalwarts of the league, albeit one that never seems to have made a major splash - I don't think they've ever played above the third level. But rather them than Crawley or Stevenage or all those other southern teams where you're not quite sure which league they're in.

If they get relegated I can see them having a long 5-10 year stay down there as it looks like such a difficult league to get out of with only 2 promotion spots. Most of the teams in the top half of that league are probably better than the bottom half of the league above but having only 2 relegation spots saves a lot of them. Should be 3 up and 3 down or even join the leagues together and make a League 2 North and South division.

Since 1986 Boro have had their most successful period in our history, without the helping hand of Hartlepool in our hour of most need that period does not happen, I and every Boro fan should be eternally grateful and wish our nearest league neighbours every success, hope they escape relegation and can re-build for a future that becomes the most successful period in their history.

Great supporters who always back their team, I'd encourage anyone who's not been to the Vic recently to get down there if they're given the opportunity, Hartlepool are not our rivals, those League Cup ties in 86 being our only ever competitive meetings, so why any Boro fan wouldn't want them to survive is beyond me.

Oh I'm happy for them to continue to exist, and in the Football League at that. I wouldn't lose sleep over it though.

I have lots of mates locally who want County to do well, some even support them as a second team. I go and watch them sometimes and even though I'd prefer them to win, I just shrug my shoulders when they lose.
