Hungry kids robbed

This take from one of our own...

So for balance, apparently the Chartwells food parcel was a 5 day pack and was worth £10.50. They have apologised for the lack of quantity however this is what a 5 day pack should look like.

I see after what is a good and balanced post that people have moved to the other thread to continue the £30 myth.

I have a 6 year old in school and was blatantly clear she doesnt have a £6 meal a day more like £2 which is inline with these costs.

It also shows that although some packages were unacceptable others that have been raised are inline with the cost assigned and some like I posted were well received and more than adequate.

It seems that these incidents are the lower end of the scale rather than a nationwide scandal of kids being starved as suggested as the beginning.

Too many posters so quick to jump in and accuse us “tory reptiles” as defending the indefensible (which i never did and clearly stated the opening package was not acceptable) despite getting their facts totally wrong.

I doubt they will be back to acknowledge that... just move to another thread

The government have acknowledged the problem. Thankfully this was brought to their intention and hopefully something will change

But there is a nationwide scandal of kids being starved? Hence why we have FSMs, food banks and have seen a rise in child poverty over the last ten years. Those are inconvenient facts.

As for this specific case - you seem v ready to accept the spin of a multinational corporation over the hundreds of examples provided of poor FSM provision..

And your six year old should be getting a proper meal - that the caterers at her school cut corners to profit is a further scandal.

cool story bro.... tory voter. tells me all i need to know.
And thats the problem with some of the debates on here. They can ignore whatever the issue is and just attack the man. We need to stop this. Getting personal is petty and small minded and isn't helping any debate. For the record I disagree with fatcat on this one but I'm not going to personally insult him without any back up as to why

Attempt number 1
If the photo is correct then that just can’t be right .......
If the picture is correct something needs to be done about this.

Attempt number 2
I voted Tory and I can also confirm that this image if true is sickening.

Attempt number 3
If the images are correct I would cancel the contract straight away as that is daylight robbery.

Attempt number 4
if you get hello fresh or whatever then you get similar in the dry goods package......

Attempt number 5
Im not defending it but us there any possibility the lady who posted this has got it wrong? Has anybody verified this with the company providing the food parcels?

5 attempts to subtly question whether the image is genuine and to try and sew doubt.

No, the dry goods package of a hello fresh box FOR A WEEK would not be similar to this.

Yes, the image is genuine. It’s very easy to see many many other such images posted online from parents receiving similar stuff. Working parents who cannot afford to feed their kids.

Whether it’s posts about Johnson moaning about not getting paid enough, or Cummings 40% pay rise, or kids being denied adequate food, you’ll be there somewhere ever so subtly trying to suggest maybe Johnson doesn’t actually get paid enough, and maybe Cummings doesn’t get paid enough, and maybe these photos are faked etc.
They are just a few examples off the top of my head but honestly, I’m astonished that more people haven’t cottoned on to what you are really about yet. The mischief (polite understatement) is written through so many of your posts.

Interesting analysis - I’m not subtlety questioning anything - I’m just not taking for face value what some lady has posted on the internet. If you read up on any major news site you will see that she was indeed incorrect - she had suggested the food was for ten days , it was actually five. )in mine and most eyes that is still not adequate at all and you can see my views on that above!! but luckily people questioned it enabling the problem to be clarified and hopefully addressed asap.

re Cummings and Johnson’s pay go and reread the posts as it seems you cannot read. It is obvious I was not defending their pay.

you seem intent on painting me as something I’m not and you do it in a regular and heavy handed way Fabio which leads me to believe you are some sort of bully, are you a bully Fabio?

Given your support of this government, I'd have thought that you'd like bullies?

What on earth are you blathering about? I've not bullied anyone, just stated some facts.

I pointed out your hypocrisy and now you don't even have the backbone to stand by your own convictions. Hilarious.
Mate it’s 8 o clock in the morning I have that guy Fabio coming at me and then you attempting to stick the boot in - that’s bullying plain and simple.

Whether the food was worth a fiver or suppose to be for 3, 5 or 10 days is completely irrelevant.

Families in need, all over the country in the middle of a pandemic are being provided with sub standard food packages aimed at producing one thing and one thing only, a huge profit margin for a parent company that earned £1.77bn pre-tax profits in 2019.

The food itself is clearly bought in bulk and portioned out to an unknown "specification", with seemingly zero quality or quantity control that differs all over the country.

No clear labeling on poor quality containers (health risk!) with those receiving the parcels not knowing how long the food is for, how much its worth or if they will get more.

The packages are random ingredients that cannot possibly produce a nourishing meal for a child with no guidance on how to prepare a meal with them and getting the most out of the food with no wastage.

The voucher scheme was far better than the shambles and shame of these food parcels, the Tories have found another way to provide an awful public service via a huge private company for maximum profit at the cost of the taxpayer.

I am casually waiting for the likes of Ben Bradley to provide anecdotal reports of these packages being traded for meth.

Stick the boot in? It's a football message board, where opinions differ. I'm not exactly around your breakfast table telling you your opinions are terrible.

Anyway, I'll leave off - but it's in no way 'bullying' to express an opinion.
