Toyah

Lived apart for years as his work with his band, King Crimson, was US based and she lived in the UK.

Saw his band in the 70’s at a gig at the University in York

thanks for sharing these videos are brilliant certainly improved my day what a great couple! Actually went to see Toyah around 1980 up in Newcastle or Durham can't quite remember, think it was pretty average gig from memory ....

Can’t believe you kept it all to yourself!! I’ve just heard about it so I have some catching up to do.
I did try and spread the word back in May. Nobody was that fussed. :(

Mind you, her baps weren't on display then.

40 seconds was enough for me. Friend of ours went to school with her. Not a good word to say tbh .
This comment really made me chuckle, she must have left school around 1975, do you think she might have changed during the 45 years she's been left school!!

I went to an AIM (Association of Independent Music) agm about 10 years ago and Robert Fripp did a talk on why he would never sign with a major record label. He had a clause in all his contracts that if ever the label was bought by a major label then the contract was deemed null and void. That is until Sanctuary got bought out by Universal. Fripp went into the Sanctuary office to inform them of the clause and was told that legally Universal hadn't bought Sanctuary, but were partnering Sanctuary. He was very entertaining and a good public speaker. Toyah looks great for her age

In a similar vein . About same genre

Kim Wilde lives quite locally to me (in the same village as one of my best mates). Pre Covid, used to see her out and about in the local pubs, as well as her brother Ricky (the dude playing guitar).

She did (pre-Covid) a great Christmas show in Knebworth Hall and hopefully will re-start when this is all over.

Apparently she was bullied at school, might want to ask your friend about that.
Fair points, and I hadnt realised the issues she had. To come from what she said and to make a career out of it, more power to her elbows.

Yes a Codicote resident I believe. Good cycle cafe on the hill there. Spokes. Not fussed about the two pubs in the village but the Robin Hood up from Spokes isn’t bad.

The Goat is OK, and used to do decent Thai food.

Yeah Spokes is pretty decent, I had them build my gravel bike back in the summer and now try and end my off-road rides there as some of the cakes are amazing. I believe her house is actually the one just before the Spokes turning.
