Carabao Cup

Sunderland progress to the 4th round. Brentford make 11 changes and still win 7-0.
Apart from the likes of Sunderland Wigan games, the others are utterly boring, if I didn't watch the mighty Boro I wouldn't watch a minute of any game
Liverpools reserves win 3-0, we never seen that coming 🙄

Absolutely zero interest. I would love to know how many changes each side has made compered to the line ups on Saturday.

Getting to the final would be amazing. Yet everything before seems like an unwanted distraction (also see the FA Cup 3rd round).

It use to be the top 6 teams who’d rest players and others would play fairly strong teams trying to win. Now even championship teams are playing reserves.

Norwich could have put their first team out and tried to get a morale boosting win, their not exactly in great form and any win surely would be good.

There was an Oldham fan on Twitter worried that they were already 5-0 down at half-time as he'd put a bet on the final score being 7-0. At least he's made some cash!

Same with Everton. They are a mid table Premier League team if ever I saw one so why not play a full team in the competition? No threat of relegation and no chance of top 6.

Teams should be fined heavily for deliberately fielding under strength teams or scrap the competition. Any shirt number over 25 should be banned or teams with shirt numbers totalling over 200 , Liverpool had a 62 in goal and an 84 on the field

I get that this may be an unpopular opinion, given it's our only major silverware, but I wouldn't miss this competition if it was scrapped entirely, or at least held for the EFL clubs alone. I notice France binned off their version a year or so ago, which means there's only about half a dozen leagues in Europe with a league cup.
The demotion of the winner's prize to a place in the Europa Conference rather than Europa League, shows how little respect there is for it and the prize money (£100k for the winner) is quite pitiful. I suppose the gate receipts may bring in a little extra income for some teams. Is that enough though?

Yeah, pretty much any premier league side now fields weakened sides. Back in the day, most top flight sides out of the top few would see it as a great chance to win a cup. Now it just seems like clubs see it as a chance to give players a run out and see how it goes, if they get to the final then great, if not, no big deal.

Hardly surprising though, even the FA cup isn’t what it was. Remember the huge event the final used to be, a huge build up all morning until kick off.

Any club in the premier league would take top 4 over an FA cup it seems. So what chance has the league cup got?

Didn't even know there were any league cup matches on yesterday until I saw the Liverpool result on the news this morning.

Draw for the fourth round made by Harry Redknapp and Micah Richards at Potton Bowls Club…about a mile away from my workplace…..

Ive no idea why either.
Someone won a competition apparently

It will never happen but I'd love it if the FA made it that only the top 2 qualify automatically for the Champions League.

Winners of the FA cup and League cup get the other two places.

If a team finishes top 2 and wins one of the cups, then the third placed team qualifies for the Champions League. If they win both cups then it goes to the third and fourth placed teams.

Couldn't we have some kind of Champions League Play Off involving cup winners and third/fourth place....would be a bit of a money spinner too?!

What does this change exactly other than giving the top clubs in the PL and easier chance of CL football? Because these are the teams winning these cups pretty much year after year already.
