Car following me for 2 miles along country roads, right up my ****. I wasn't going fast or slow, just the usual speed most people do

When I went to turn right, you can guess what happened :mad::mad:

I'm always moaning to Mrs H about tailgaters and I'm totally justified

Far too many people put too much trust in their brakes when the roads are potholed and poorly lit on routes like that.

I really notice it when I drive our little car. I had somebody tried to overtake me as I turned right into a T junction a few weeks ago. That takes an IQ in minus figures.

Were you driving below the 60mph speed limit?

I've found these tailgaters on a motorway genuinely tend to target drivers by car as if trying to intimidate them.

When I had my massive mer, I didn't get that many tailgaters.

When I drove the other halves Juke I seemed to get loads more. As if a smaller car can be pushed out of the way?

The solution? Brake check them!

If someone gets up my **** I reduce my speed by 10 mph, once took it too far when overtaking two hgv’s I went 61mph so took as long as could to overtake then, infuriated the driver behind me and he cut right across my car when I finally pulled in. Must have been an inch away from the front of my car.

still go a lot of joy out how much I must have ***ed him off.

Good work! I thought I was good at winding them up but that's another level!

I get great pride in slowing down when people get up my ****, when there's cars in front and I have no reasonable place to go. I slow down, to the point where it becomes blatantly obvious what I'm doing, to build up some space in front, then after a further 10 seconds of them being irate I just floor it and leave them in my dust.

Then give them chance to catch up, so they calm down, then just as you see them coming pull out, and repeat as necessary.

Takes a bit of practice and the right opportunity to do it, but it's entertaining. Extra points if you time it so you pull off the carriageway before they get the opportunity to overtake, but if you don't get that just wave at them with a smug face.

People sticking in the outside lane, when there's a good amount of space in the middle or inside lane deserve all they get mind. By that I don't mean any space though, where you would have to pull in and then pull out again immediately, that's pointless if you're doing the speed limit or catching up the car in the middle quick and you're on the outside.

I'm sure the fools who break the two second rule, are actually that dumb, that when they start the count, they start at 1, thus making it a one second rule.

We do need an 80mph limit on Motorways and three lane carriageways though, these are the safest roads by far. Most country lanes should not be national speed limit, 60mph on those compared to 70 on a motorway is ridiculous.

I'd rather they did away with speed bumps, and just installed massively obvious cameras, with a count down to when they're coming. Speed bumps are hard to see on our **** roads, and dangerous on 20/ 30mph roads if you don't see them. Use the camera charges to pay to fix potholes, and this only.

Does your car put the brake lights on during regen? Do you have different regen modes?

On mine, on max regen it stops extremely quick, certainly don't even need to brake. I'd have to switch out of regen to even use my brakes!

I drive loads on the A1 and A19 for work and it never ceases to amaze me how lots of people have such lack of discipline when driving. It's not unusual for me to keep a good distance from the car in front, only for someone to jump in the gap I've left. On the A1 near Durham there's even chevrons on the road providing visual aid to maintaining a gap. Lots of drivers take no notice at all.

Then there's the general lack of observational skills. The amount of time some drivers do not take the chance to glance right on the approach to a roundabout. If they did it becomes obvious that they do not need to stop and could take the roundabout immediately. Not doing that means they don't look right until right on the roundabout, which means they come to a stop when it wasn't needed. That then effects the cars behind.

Why bother trying to wind someone up further? It just adds to the problem, and probably ultimately causes plenty of crashes itself. If someone is being a d ckhead, rather than slowing down, why not just pull over and let them past?

Yeah the brake light go on. I only have two regents modes, normal and low. Normal is reasonably strong but it's nowhere near one pedal driving. I'd have to switch to low before I brake checked!

Because it would serve them right. Tailgating is illegal, and also the sign of a bad and angry driver. The type of people who deserve winding up
