Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

Conservatives are down to about their core support now and I don't think they will improve much before an election. Some of the core support may well drift away over time too.
It would be interesting to see how many 'don't knows' there are - and if they previously voted Tory
The worry for me is they are actually socially to the right of the Tories, but will vote for them to try and stop a Labour government
Like you say I think they are down to their 'core vote' - who will vote for them no matter what

The Saville comment will haunt them and rightly so, shows how really deperate they've become.
Long way to go and as folk above have rightly said a new leader will change things for the Tories although I doubt enough to swing it back too much.
With regards to the Brexit debacle don't foget that Corbyn's fence sitting and apathy looms in the background..... unfortunately the Tories will use that. The damage he did lingers for some time.

I think at the next election lot of the red wall votes will go to the reform party (UKIP) as a protest against not getting the Brexit they wanted. Hopefully that should dilute the Tory vote sufficient for Labour to get back in. Labour should then continue with the levelling up agenda, but actually show quantifiable progress and not just social media propaganda.

Red wall voters are a strange one, not sure they are a homogenous group and different factors are at play in different regions. The only common theme to me seems to be concerns about living standards. Tories managed to convince this group that they were suffering because of the EU and immigration, Labour needs to change this narrative to win back support and this is not as easy as it sounds

Memories are very short, the lack of any action against Johnson over partygate shows that.
The media dictate the terms and length of any political discourse
I was going to echo this actually, its amazing how quickly people forget, todays our age is tomorrow apathy, however, what could keep this going is the constant financial squeeze plus cost of living crisis

When it comes to immigration, it is not possible to change the narrative, its ingrained, unfortunately this will boil down to a (tough stance in immigration), its the nation we I've in im afraid. If Labour are seen as "pro immigration" in any way, then votes will go to ukip or reform, then its down to a race for the line but handing masses of seats to these parties could spell long term disaster

I'm still pinning my hopes on the Met's investigation.
Must be a very in depth investigation, two weeks gathering evidence that was already either in the public domain or Sue Gray's report. Perhaps they haven't been able to get interviews with those involved or they have replied with standard 'no comment'?!

Gathering evidence must be tough they. Given every single person who enters and leaves downing street is recorded and has their bags checked by checks notes the metropolitan police!

They've already said they won't name individuals.
Was the Boris Saville comment a smokescreen designed to move the narrative on from the Met report?
Whatever.......... it stunk of a whitewash from the start and doesn't smell any sweeter.
Once he knew she wasn't gonna play ball he got the Met involved to slow everything down.

According to The Times, Johnson won't resign even if he is given a fine for the party (or parties). This will prove his misled Parliament and yet he still won't go, and the spineless bunch of complicit crooks behind him won't force him to go either. These are genuinely worrying times for democracy in this country.

 nice thought but I don't really see why it would haunt them especially. Saying Corbyn was a terrorist supporter did them no harm. Same with the "man who hated Britain" stuff aimed at Miliband(s dad Ralph).
