Port Vale fans 'attacking / taunting' Swindon players following penalty shoot out in play offs.
Swindon players standing in centre circle during shoot out, and within 5 seconds of winning penalty, they're surrounded 👎

Throwing beer in the air in the concourse, the use of drugs and the super annoying way people rather take videos of the game/themselves reacting rather actually watching the game has ruined my enjoyment of attending a football game. Pitch invasions are nothing new, not sure how it is stopped. Even with fences at Ayresome Park we had pitch invasions.

Time to bring back fences?
I don’t see how they can after Hillsborough, but we might not see safe standing for a while longer.

I suppose entrance to modern stadiums is more controlled so the risk is a lot lower, but there are still a lot of older stadiums.

Any adult entering a pitch during other after a game should be given minimum 6 months prison, £10k fine and a lifetime ban from all sporting events.

Is it an exaggeration to say Billy Sharp could have been seriously injured the other night? A running headbutt isn't nothing

It was pathetic to see and so bl@@dy obvious it was going to happen. The Swindon players tired to protect their own player who missed the final spot kick by running over to him as the fans raced towards him. The stewards/ coppers were hopeless. The Swindon manager said that his players were physically and verbally attacked by fans.

Mindless idiots are going to spoil it for all of us.....

Sorry, was just continuing the conversation
I agree, it was a cowardly brutal attack in public. I actually thought the sentence he got was quite lenient.

These pitch invasions remind me of the riots in 2011, which spread across the country like wildfire. People see it and think they need to do it as well. You can guarantee there‘ll be a couple more this Sunday. Fortunately the season is nearly at an end so something can be put in place over the summer, but the punishments for individuals and clubs needs to be severe.

It’s getting completely out of hand and beginning to resemble scenes from South America.

It needs to be made extremely clear before the start of next season that there will be severe penalties for clubs and fans where this takes place.

Any spectator who can be identified as having run onto the pitch must get a heavy fine and a life time ban.

Completely agree. Lifetime bans for fans who trespass onto the pitch. Needs to be mandated by the football authorities.

This needs to STOP now, we are I danger of going back to the bad old day's, society is on a downward trend and it's showing in football.
Government and football authorities need to act quickly otherwise fan's behaviour (minority) will be out of control.

It won't stop until the clubs are hit really hard. Fans invade pitch and automatic loss of that game and automatic relegation to the next level would do it.
I mean, when you have people like Lampard saying this it's never going to stop unless they crack down on the clubs.
No Frank, the problem is you can't predict who's going to behave and who's going to be a complete chod...

(from Associated Press).
Lampard defended Everton fans spilling onto the field.“It was pure elation of fans who have come on the pitch after avoiding relegation,” he said. “If it is done in the right way let them stay on the pitch, let them have their moment. As long as they behave, no problem.”
