YouGov Poll - 33 Point lead!

No chance of general election been called with those numbers surely?
If she can survive the next week and get a post-conference poll bounce, she might be mad enough to call a snap election now and get a fresh five-year mandate, even if she just squeaks in with a minority government.

Good news in a bad time.

2 years is a long way away though, and I'm not sure the Tories can be this utterly awful for that long.

I hope they're not, tbh, I want them out now, but it's still 2 years of people in this country suffering before we get a chance of a change.
They could get worse. We keep thinking they can't but they keep managing it.

they know they are on the way out and thats why they are fleecing the country for maximum gain, dirty horrible cnuts
My main worry is that these mandateless maniacs will dig their heels in, double down and stay as long as possible, so they can wreak as much havoc and plunder the country as much as they possibly can. They won't want to waste their chance.

64 Conservative MP's would be hilarious.

I suspect many of the ones left would be a lot of the more lunatic ones, who somehow often seem to manage to get into the very safest seats. Although I suppose the lunatics don't last long in seats that aren't guaranteed.

They'd have to be like the SNP and form a seat snaffling club to get on the telly during PMQ's.

Unless they could get within about 10 seats of a majority and do another deal with the DUP, there’s zero chance of the Tories forming a minority government at the next GE They have literally no other parties who might prop them up.

My bet is that they’re now going to drag this out until January 2025, in the hope that things somehow improve or there’s another dramatic event that requires national unity.

The only chance of a GE before then would be for sufficient of their MPs to see the writing on the wall and cross the floor to either Labour or the Lib Dems. Given their current majority, that’s a very long shot.
