I'm A Celeb - Matt Hancock

But it did. Why? Because she placed herself in a position where she felt conflicted. She can show her personal side doing many things which don't involve going on a show like that a show which is desiggned to place individuals in uncomfortable situations at the mercy of public judgement. Clive Myrie for example has done things designed to bring out his personal side without subjecting himself to such embarrassing ordeals. HIGNFY, the Repair Shop to name but two. Charlene could have chosen any number of shows to come out of her news persona.
Yep she has since remarked that she regrets going on the show.

Why would he impartiality be compromised
Let her explain

"I couldn't quite understand how it would be taken if I was to be interviewing politicians from Labour, the Lib Dems or the Green party when they know that I have shared an intimate space with someone who has been in an opposition party. It just didn't sit well with me."

So she should have avoided the show altogether frankly. Thats what it is. Sharing intimate space with others in "captivity"

Weren't all the inmates unaware of who else were involved before they meet them in camp? It could therefore be that had Charlene known Hancock was going in she would have had second thoughts?

That said I struggle with the idea that you choose to go on a programme like that and then later complain about the individuals they are shacked up with.

It's a nonsense excuse. It was no more intimate in the RV than it was in the rest of camp. It was all televised so there was nothing hidden. She just didn't want to share it with him because he's Matt Hancock which if anything showed that she wasn't impartial more than if she had just done it.

I disagree it is more intimate you are behind closed doors in the RV for whatever reason she might be uncomfortable sharing a room with a man on her own even with cameras

That was the issue as you say it was the fact it was not recorded that concerned her as he could have said anything.

Don’t forget away from the show unlike the others she knows the real Matt Hancock her colleagues know the real Matt Hancock she worked through the pandemic.

Exactly. She came up with a well thought out excuse why she didn’t do and was inconsistent to what she told her campmates

More intimate in the rv , everything was out camera……

By not going into the rv because she doesn’t like hancock (let’s be honest that’s the reason she didn’t go in) she’s probably effected her impartiality.

She’s realised it and tried to defend her impartiality in true political style, which is ironic really

Matt Hancock should not have been invited to take place and then none of this fall out or controversy occurs.

A swathe of the general public are now defending the indefensible and shows that Hancock's appearance on mainstream television has more impact and reach than any Party Political Broadcast.

ITV generated a platform that allowed excuse after excuse, without comeback, to go unchallenged, they allowed a false narrative that does not correlate with the known facts to be spun and those with only a passing interest in politics to be hoodwinked and believe 'he was just a man doing his best'

He oversaw a PPE fraud that allowed his friends and acquaintances to benefit and put the lives of NHS and frontline workers at risk.

Whilst 1000's died he manipulated and created an employment position so that his mistress could be a colleague thus allowing him to continue his affair.

He knowingly and deliberately ignored advice on returning people with Covid to nursing and retirement homes causing 1000's of additional and preventable deaths, at best gross negligence at worst a calculated cull.

The complete 'rehabilitation' before investigations and enquires are complete should not be permitted.

Hancock is not the naive fool he apparently played in Australia, he's a hard bitten political animal prepared to do anything to retain or garner greater power, he believed he could be PM in 2019, but we are meant to believe he abdicated power over decisions on Covid to others.

In the case of White she was in a no win situation and I don't think it's fair giving someone the choice of frying pan or fire and then being critical of their choice.

AM she did have a choice but for me that programne is so horrendous that anybody who chooses to take the money and enter loses their right to "intimacy and privacy". It is a sh1t show.

Fully agree. I was critical of Charlene's decision but that's because I don't believe her spin. That's just part of the entertainment factor of the show. Hancock shouldn't have been there, full stop. It's bad enough that the enquiries etc haven't happened yet but he's still an MP so he still has influence and like you say can put any case he wants forwards unchallenged.

It was extremely low for ITV to consider it. Let's face it, if they could convince Zelensky to take part next year and surprise the camp with Putin on day 4 then they'd do it.

I said on page 1 of this thread that I didn't want him to have the opportunity to redeem himself by being a good sport and that is exactly how it played out. Many people will be able to see through it but enough people thought highly enough of him to keep him in until the final. He'll have made a fortune, will improve his book sales and he'll just go back to his MP position and will inevitably find himself in a senior position with the party again at some point. It stinks
