The British police are the best in the world

According to Tom Robinson - The British police are the best in the world, I don't believe one of these stories I've heard.

How will the MET police ever be trusted again?

An investigator has revealed she quit her job at the police watchdog over the handling of a complaint about the stop and search of two black athletes.
Bianca Williams and Ricardo Dos Santos were stopped by police in July 2020 while driving through west London.
The Met Police referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Trisha Napier, who assessed the actions of the officers involved, said her investigation was later "watered down", something the IOPC vehemently denies.

Thankless job. Unfortunately the minority soil it for the majority like in most walks of life.
There is good mad bad in every profession. The lack of vetting is worrying, thought it was quite strict to get into any of the forces.
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate what the police do for us, but these bad apples are breaking down the trust people will have in them. As J_P says, any decent officer will be in favour of it.

A difficult job, scant resources, and unarmed.

I wonder who actually does have the world's best police force?

Speaking from experience the british police have major cultural issues that are endemic. There is corruption right through the ranks and there is no way of reporting such matters without putting yourself at risk. The good ones are hounded out whilst the rot spreads through the rest of the apples. Its not necessarily that they are all rotten but in the interest of self preservation you are better keeping quiet or moving on.

The industry is full of virtue signallers who really couldn't care less and are happy to turn blind eyes to all sorts of wrong doing. These people just know the language to use. All talk, no substance.

That top one looks like it was written by an AI. They think the met is the best police force in the world as they have done a lot of work publisizing the emergency number. What was it again? 994? 997? Something like that.

We do have the best police in the world though. Your more likely to face a fair investigation, all funded by the public purse, than any other country.

And stop search works. Fact.

Out of curiosity, what experience are you referring to?

I disagree with this. It certainly hasn’t been my experience.

I agree with this to some extent, the virtue signallers definitely exist. I mostly disagree with the rest of what you’ve said.

I'm glad to hear your experience has been different to mine, Heam

Nah, there’s only good in piping engineering profession.
