Appeal unsuccessful

I think the club's logic is that it was outside the box, which wouldve meant that it was a free kick, but still a sending off if he is adjudged to have fouled him and being the "last man".

I still struggle to see the foul if I'm honest, and it might be a case of the referee being protected, but it is what it is, as Mogga would say.

We move on, and McNair and Lenihan is a decent partnership. In fact, I think it will help McNair having Lenihan alongside him.

I will be having a bet on one of our players getting sent off this weekend. Refs protect each other and I'd imagine appealing this will put a mark on us. My money is on Crooks for being too tall and it being unfair on the smaller players.
I know you were joking but we were definitely a target under warnock.

How the club had the cheek to appeal that is beyond me.

If it works the same way as other appeals, the EFL will increase the sanction.

They can increase the ban if the deem it a 'frivolous' appeal, doubt given the offence they will. In circumstances like this where it isn't really clear & obvious they will always back the referee, stupid of the club to appeal in my opinion.

It was soft but probably at least two fouls in there by Fry. I get that these things happen all over the pitch and go unpunished but this one didn't. Was outside the box though and shouldn't have been a pen.

It's appealing blatant violent conduct that tends to get punished.

Every instance I've found of frivolous appeal punishments has been for daft appeals of violent conduct.

Aliadiere slapped a player.
Ferdinand struck a player.
Turner elbowed a player.

There's nothing frivolous about appealing a soft as anything red for "denial" of a goalscoring opportunity.
