    F*CK VAR

I think you have a point that maybe the whole structure of game refereeing needs to be looked at. Maybe two types of referee - the behavioural referee who is expert at the psychology of keeping the players disciplined, clean and managed and the technical referee who makes sure the key decisions...

    F*CK VAR

Personally don’t think extra linesmen would solve the problem. Part of it is just the speed of movement of these players along with a lot of ‘dummy’ running and false moves trying to pull defenders around to create gaps. It’s too much for your average 45 year old linesman who is taking dogs...

    F*CK VAR

I think Boromart has a point, the Cov goal did look offside when watching on the telly and the Leeds one was one of the most obvious you will ever see, pure incompetence or maybe something else by the linesman.

    F*CK VAR

I don’t think there is a half way house on this personally. I don’t know about the accuracy but if the technology is in place then you use it as it is and all parties accept the outcome or you just go back to relying on humans. But if you did that surely things would have to improve massively...

    F*CK VAR

I think that is fair comment that the remote referees need to be better at coming to decisions more quickly and possibly more accurately but the VAR removes the excuses that they didn’t see it, or thought the player dived or the linesman was too unfit to keep up with a finely tuned athlete...

    F*CK VAR

Tonight’s game demonstrated exactly why VAR is required. The refereeing was poor tonight, no doubt about it. It keeps the game honest and it keeps it fair. I agree it should be implemented better but the principle of having it is more important than ever in my opinion.

    F*CK VAR

It is part of the problem but only if people continually criticise VAR if it gives the ‘wrong’ decision in terms of how they wanted the outcome to be. Personally I would prefer the match to be fairly decided rather than emotionally decided but everybody thinks differently don’t they?

    F*CK VAR

Yes but they both know VAR will check a tight decision so disallowing the goal for offside is somebody else’s call after looking at the replay, it’s an easier option for them isn’t it? My point is that with no VAR the linesman may have acted differently, you can’t assume he wouldn’t have flagged.

    F*CK VAR

Without the VAR I think he would have been flagged offside, he looked more offside in real time than he did on the VAR still. The linesmen are told not to flag so it is deceiving to think that without the VAR it would have been a goal.

    F*CK VAR

Must admit I have a grudge against Coventry since the play off match but I’ve argued on here in favour of VAR, at risk of my life I might add…

    F*CK VAR

If we are talking about the penalty against Man U and the offside for Coventry then I didn’t see anything wrong with the outcome of both decisions. I thought the Coventry player looked offside in real time, I was surprised how tight it was on the replay.

Well remembered, something was dodgy about that play off final.

    Leighton James RIP

Burnley were a bit ahead of time in those days with a thriving youth set up, they had brought a lot of top players through their ranks.

Anyone think houchen will get back in?

Teesside got to the point after the steelworks disappeared that it had nothing to lose anymore so started to be adventurous about who it was voting for and embraced those who were promising investment like Johnson and Houchen and excusing the corruption by saying ‘well they are all corrupt...

    Leighton James RIP

I always think the true test of how good non Boro footballers are is if you can remember them from the matches against Boro and I certainly remember James. Good player for Burnley in his era, RIP.
