I think it talks about this guy in the book. Was a genuine hero. The book goes into some smaller detail about what the Japanese did but I think they did far worse things in other parts of the country, particularly northern China. Pure madness.

Recently finished, Rape of Nanking. Only shines the tiniest of lights on the Japanese in China but what an unbelievable read. Also, Enemy at the Gates (I think that’s what it was called). Siege of Stalingrad. Would love to be able to read fiction but just can’t get into anything.
