It looks like Boro are planning a friendly in Plymouth on July 23rd - It will be a Friday evening. Hopefully some fans will be let in.

Some might like to combine a little holiday break with a Boro game and knock off another league ground if they were unable to go in 1973, 1981, 1987, 1991 or 2010.

Or 1990 ...

I live down here and am hoping that fans will be allowed in. It will be a nice treat to watch Boro with my Argyle season ticket holding mates (even if it is a meaningless friendly).

As Devon says, it will not be easy to get hold of digs. It seems like everything (across all price ranges) is getting booked up already.

I went to the 91 match, went down on the train, through all my gear into left luggage. Watched the match, if memory serves, I think it was a 1-1 draw. Then legged it back to the station, picked up my gear and went on to Redruth for RNAS Culdrose, picked up a Sea King and flew out to the SW Approaches to join my ship. The timings had to be spot on, but I just managed it. The things we do to follow the Boro !!

Been there twice 👍

We went in 2010 and we won 2-0 - Easter time - stayed in Atlantic Hotel on the outskirts of Plymouth - 25 minutes walk to Home Park down a long hill. About 800 Boro there for a game with not a lot to play for.

I went to that.
Stayed in a budget hotel round the corner from a pub called The Walrus.
Got there on the Friday night and the place was rammed with Boro - a disco an karaoke.
Crackin day out.
Went to Penzance and across to the Scilly Isles next day (y)

I have fond memories of that fixture as a few of my friends and family made the trip down so I saw lots of familiar faces over the weekend.
And the Boro turn-out was great for a 'dead rubber' game (y)

Happened years ago Randy - now it is properly dead.
People are more likely to be around the Barbarican or up around North Hill and Mutley (closer to the University).
Remember visiting a mate who was in the navy when I was around 19/20 years old. Was decent night out.

We drew them in the FA Cup and also had a league game close to the cup tie if memory serves me right

I went to the FA Cup replay in 1991, 7 hours on the train only to find out the match was postponed, I had to stay overnight. I went to the rearranged game as well a week later, 4 days off work and two 14 hour round trips.
