The "Official" unofficial - Middlesbrough v "Aye Up Lad" Barnsley Match Thread.

Too easy to just blame the keeper as poor as he is, the whole team performance and tactics are very poor again and NW has a lot to do with that.
Don't be daft. We're playing away at one of the form teams in the league with nigh on half of our first team missing (Tav, Fry, Djiksteel, Morsy). Until the Keeper woes kicked in we were dealing with them quite comfortably.

There'll be huge turnover of players in the summer.
I can't believe that NW signed a new contract without the promise of some funds from SG. Whether those funds come in the form of transfer fees and/or an improved wage structure I don't know.
I won't be judging NW on this season, let's see how we're doing after 10-12 games next season.
I am!

Looking at the players he's brought in with the exception of Watmore (who came to us rather than the other way round) that doesn't give me any confidence

Why is it ,when we are the form team, we get turned over, yet we never seem to do it to others. All this form team nonsense just gives the players and manager an excuse for under performing.

There's absolutely no reason not to judge Warnock for this season.
We've signed nearly a full team for him.

The second half of the season has been dreadful on far too many occasions, he's not blameless in that.

Even when they have been in the team, our approach to playing football (loose term) has been the same, it aimlessly high and long the forwards haven't got a chance you might think it's effective and all we are capable of but not me.

Next season we won't have so many players in the final year of their contracts.
I think we'll have better loan choices.
I'm happy with some of the players we've been linked with (Ched Evans aside).
Today we had a number of players out injured.

There is hope for next season with NW in charge.

Right I'll get my scores out the way quickly

Betenelli 4 - a couple of good saves but a massive clanger for the first, and he probably should have done better with the initial soft header for the second

Fisher 5 - poor on the ball and dived too often to win freekicks

Hall 8 - handled Dike very well

McNair 5 - should have moved their forward out the way to make it easier for Betenelli on the first goal, left Dike free for the second

Bola 6 - steady enough, but never really got forward

Howson 7 - worked hard, competed in midfield well

Saville 5 - effort but little quality, fluffed his lines early on with a simple header

Kebano 5 - tried to get on the ball but it didn't really come off

Spence 6.5 - competed well, won plenty of headers, but very little support.

Watmore 6.5 put a lot of miles in but nothing for him to work off

Akpom 5 - effort but zero quality

Britt 4
Fletcher 4
Johnson 6
Coulson 5

Need 5 first teamers for next season
