Which "type of person" votes Conservative?
What are their defining characteristics?
Which "type of person" are you?
Do those "type of person" have opinions or ability rationale` to change their opinions?
1. Daily Mail Reader
2. Moved to Ingleby Toy Town
3. Has a private plate like. 5ave1
4. Makes that special effort to humiliate somebody at a family event by saying you have put weight on or tapping the belly of said person.

I think that what you are asking is, do voters weigh up the options instead of voting in a tribalistic manner?
I would say yes and the results bear this out.

What type of person am I?
Someone who is pragmatic, someone who looks at the bigger picture and won’t just vote for the same party, regardless of its leader or it’s policies.

You can carry on moaning about stupid people voting for the Tories as much as you like, but the reality is, they keep doing it because they feel it’s best for them and the country.

Despite all of the evidence to the contrary.

I've read this sentiment quite a lot over the past few weeks but can anyone tell me what the people who have decided to vote Conservative rather than Labour actually want? What is it that has made apparently 'dyed-in-the-wool' voters of a traditionally left-leaning party move to the right of politics? They can't have done it to protest that the Labour Party has moved too far right for them because that wouldn't make any sense, so what is it? Is it purely Brexit? Is it a protest against anyone even remotely left being viewed as soft, metropolitan, liberal, woke on TV and in papers and almost everywhere? If people are protesting about a lack of opposition then is the best way to do that to vote for the government? I can't get my head around that.

I would love to know the reasons why people are switching to the Tories after more than a decade of Conservative-led, ideologically-driven austerity.

I think it's less about the Tories, rather the perception of what Labour stands for and I think this will be a hard one to address.

Pushing the "Who paid for No10 flat renovation" was a mistake running up to these elections - The Labour narrative should have been POLICY POLICY POLICY.

I wouldnt called anybody "stupid" or "tribalistic" - but you use emotive language, so I asked you questions in order to clarify your answers. With any discourse its important to understand what the other person means by their questions rather than rely on personal assumptions (y)
Please be polite and dont attribute your opinions by transferring them to me - you appear by your comments to have a pre-rehearsed perception of others, which clearly colours your responses and judgement.
Perhaps you may benefit from being more circumspect in formulating your opinions?

42% turnout is very low.
Tell you brexiteers still engaged in policies remaniners are not. The current sleaze with no accountability will be doing nothing to engage people

as we know the average iq of the brexiteer is lower than a remainer, making the less likely to give a damn about the sleaze.

Not sure what Labour need to do, they need to do something quickly. There’s another by-election coming in the summer, they’ll be in danger of losing another seat

We'll see. We've had nothing from Houchen that makes any real difference to our lives. We were in a better state before his position existed.

We've had nothing from this government other than promises. No real change other than a real swing towards corruption
I agree but the propaganda from Houchen is very good, or shall I say good enough for the people it is aimed at.
