how was sporor kept on????

Sporar was poor today so the op is right.

Crooks was pretty poor for 80 minutes as well. I lost count of the number of times I cursed him today. But fair play to him the game lasts 90+6 minutes

Come on can someone also start a thread blaming Lumley for Carroll’s goal. I know you want to.
Seriously, I thought he was poorly positioned for their goal. But then he tried to gee up the North Stand which wasn't appreciated by many.

I’m not having that, nothing wrong with his positioning just week defending and a very good header. It would of beat any keeper.

Who wasn’t poor today.
Awful display fantastic result.
Take that every game till the end of season.
One of my 1st subs would have been Crooks off but credit to Wilder for keeping him on.

That header would have beaten most goalies. It was well placed and looped up and over Lumley.

My view from Block 23 North Stand is different.

Sporar wasn’t awful, let’s have some perspective.

Reading were much better than I was expecting and their game plan was to frustrate us and to try and nick something from the game. It almost worked.

Watch Wilder’s post match interview on MFC.co.uk, he sums it up perfectly.

Back to Sporar, I thought he linked up well with Connolly in the first half. He is part of a group of strikers now, rather than the main man. Having all of them playing well together is what will get us up.

Enjoy the win, the 3 points, and the rest of the weekend 🍻

Spot on mate. Impatience in some of the fans during games makes me cringe

I hate when people are to hasty in their judgements of a game. Wait until the end!
For some reason even when we went 1-0 I never believed we'd lose, I think that's the Wilder effect.

Crooks with a double, Tav with some great deliveries! I'd love to see Payero on the pitch but how on earth do you shift those three and the minute?
Even when not at their best 2 goals from one and an assist from the other!

Good judgement lads. That Croooks was awful. I suppose he'll have to score 3 goals to get a bit of praise off some people.😃

Crooks was awful. Well done to him for getting the goals and continue working his socks off but in reality he should have been hooked long before his first goal. Up until the it was probably his worst game in a Boro shirt. But it just goes to show that even if things are not going well for you just persevere and the rewards will come.

Agree with the OP as well that Sporar was off the pace today.

Neither Crooks nor Jones had good days yesterday.
However, attacking players can turn poor performances with great moments. Both did this yesterday.

I suppose the question a manager has to ask is, who, in a poor performance, can provide great moments? Sporar didn't yesterday, but CW probably felt that he was one who could.

Agree

I mentioned in a previous post, when Crooks hit the shot wide, which was almost centre of goal & should have been on target, it summed up his performance, his two excellent goals goals took him from zero to hero

Why? Because he doesn’t agree with you?
Because Sporar did a hell of a lot of work off the ball yesterday… people don’t seem to notice when forwards put a shift in, some purely think ‘he didn’t score, therefore he was gash’

Think back to Britt… that was one lazy striker
