Left Hand Side

This is not A moan I really enjoyed the game yesterday.I thought we offered nothing from the left and had to keep going back round to the right,we seem to rely on Jones too much. This improved when Balogun came on.

I'm not blaming him, he's just doing the job asked of him, but that's because we have a winger as a right wing back and then Neil Taylor as the left wing back.

He's 32 and has 0 goals and 15 assists in 316 career games at club level.

Thought he got forward a few times in the first half and got in some good positions but was very quiet second half on the left side.

We could see McGree come into that role next week.
I think McGree will be used as rotation for Tav. Don’t think Wilder will put him wing back.

The OP makes a valid point about over relying on Jones. The left hand side will improve when Bola is fit i am sure. Taylor is doing ok though. I do think we need a left footed CB which would help the situation.

Thought Taylor found plenty of space but was very poor in possession. He only took the defender on once or twice, so either he lacks any confidence or pace, probably a bit of both.
In the end our players stopped passing to him as all he ever does is a return pass. No way can he be used in the wing back role.

Balogun added more balance on the left and linked up with Taylor during his cameo...... Was taylor on? I think he was. In any event they linked up on the left, much like crooks and jones combine on the right.

I suspect the windows purchases are in part, to not be over reliant on Crooks and Jones little triangles on the right. Being able to switch play effectively from the left to the right and back again does pull a well drilled defensive unit out of position.
