Not sure where I stand with him.

On the one hand he was an aggressive & violent Scottish footballer who's Everton through and through, and I don't particularly like Everton for a number of reasons

On the other hand you can't deny the passion he has for football, and that's something to be admired in this day and age

I remember him causing an almighty melee in the box when we played Everton a while back, maybe 2005ish. I think Cooper was involved in that too.

He did a stupid thing and did time for it which is more than can be said for some assaults on the pitch over the years. I always quite like him as a footballer and he was a handful for any defender.

His record as a caretaker manager has always been good too.

Not a fan at all, didn’t like him as a player and he sounds awful as a person.
If he’s appointed permanently I don’t see him doing that well, he might have passion as an interim, but think he’d rub players up the wrong way in the long term and lose the dressing room.

I was going to say Ferguson was young and Celtic v Rangers full of passion. However, a comment like that is totally out of order in any circumstance. I wonder if he has ever apologised to Mowbray.

No one's mentioned Ferguson's other various assaults, the highlight being punching and kicking a supporter who was on crutches. He's calmed down now I suppose, but he was a violent nut case.
