As I mentioned in a previous thread, a couple of seasons ago the DLF (over 50’s ) we’re under police escort then, when passing the Pig Iron we’re attacked and scattered by the local drinkers who came out to greet them !! All that these big hard DLF lads could do was to complain to the police for not offering sufficient protection. Agree, these rumours will bring out our local nutters who normally don’t need an excuse to greet away fans who intend to cause trouble.

I doubt it's just based on a rumour, maybe the police have been in touch after monitoring the dark parts of the internet. Plus he may well have received direct threats

I also suspect it will just be temporary

I really hope they dont turn up. The town will stink of pish if they come up here. However they're more likely to forget where they're going on their way and end up wandering around the moors mumbling about how derby county do what they want before their carers turn up and take them home.

The DLF will never get in the WSU. Too many stairs to get up.
 
It be a brave derby fan waiting for gibbo near tbe main entrance, im sure a few boro fans will be waiting for them with intent if they kick off.
 
Realistically, any fans (whoever they support) that got within 10 feet of Steve Gibson with the intention of inciting violence or any section 4 public offences could face a banning order and depending on the severity; it could be a lifetime ban.
 
Just spoke to my source at the club. Apparently, they've stopped ticket sales because Sir Steve Gibson wants to march shirtless around an empty West Upper, throwing money into the air, laughing manically and shouting "I don't even care about the money any more". Not sure if true, waiting for the official Twitter to confirm.
