Heating being turned off...

We all prob have the heating on too high. I read that 58F would be okay for most if we dressed to suit. Although I wouldn’t last a day if I tried to lower it to that.
Get the jumpers out!

Honestly, you know its biting when business that have record profits through the pandemic are cutting back. Not looking forward to April when the new rates are announced. Was chatting to a colleague yesterday and he is with Bulb. His monthly direct debit has just been upped to £630 a month for gas & electric.

Unless they have electric cars I suspect your colleague has a side chick called cultivation hidden in the loft!

I have an electric car and mine is going up to £500 a month.

Remember the fuss about the "Insulate Britain" protests?

Not wrong were they? If instead of spending money subsidising gas bills or incentivising oil and gas production we spent the money on making our houses more fuel efficient.

Might be a good idea...
Never understand why people have an issue with this. Although I did read an interesting thing today about electric cars ( at least the ones here in the USA ) - it stated that because they are far heavier than ICE cars they cause more long-term damage to the roads. Linked to this, they Govts are not getting the revenue from petrol sales ( albeit very limited in the USA ) to use to repair the roads.
Here of course , the big trucks are popular.

Some of them figures are scary. Currently pay £90 a month for gas and leccy in a 4 bed house. Still got 21 months left on a fix rate.
God knows how much it will have gone up to by the end of that 😲
