Ball Boys

I know its a first world problem, but it has annoyed me for some time.

Its especially annoying when we are setting the whole team up to play high tempo pressing football, then it take a minute or more for the ball to be returned for a throw in etc.

It relieves the pressure on the opposition and wastes time that will eventually cost us when we are chasing a game late on.

I find it baffling that given the amount of prep and analysis that goes into every aspect of the game, that this is something left to play out its own course..

I don’t know if it was Warnock’s idea to get rid of ballboys but it was definitely Wilder who agreed to getting them back.
To keep momentum up. A containing strategy that NW employed and you can see why it was not necessary to get the ball back in play quickly. Wilder OTHH wants it hectic and ballboys should be on their toes

Under Karanka, Leo would give the ball boys instructions before the match, if we were chasing the game get it faster, if we were holding on to a slim lead get it slower etc.

Didn't Pulis have them with a towel each, so Ryan 'Cannon-Ball' Shotton could hurl in another ineffective, powder-puff set piece as well?

So now that Covid restrictions are lifted, are we expecting to see the ball boys vault over those barriers and return the balls at pace???
