2nd best? They are the best Belgium league side, albeit a massive surprise they won the league last year, finishing 5 points clear of Club Brugge and 13 points clear of Anderlecht.

owned by brighton and hove albion (tony bloom) - they use them as a feeder club for developing players
Yes, same OH Leuven who are owned by the Fox Power Group and are also a feeder club for Leicester. Maybe Gibbo should invest in one..I wonder how much it would cost him for Zulte Waregem or St.Truiden (NB - Disclaimer, other clubs with nice names are also available) 😁

as it happens, i dont agree with it - belguim is a notorious league for 'football slavery' with youngsters from Africa being brought in from belguims colonial past so they by-pass passport/permit controls - they are sivved through the football system in huge numbers - then abandoned with little support, no education and alone when they dont meet the standard.

its another football scandal waiting to be aired.

millionaires and billionaires attached to english clubs investing, is being complicit in the system & scheme.

Yep, won the league but not the Champions, I see Belgium have opted for the bizarre Hockey style post-season Championship play off, which was won last season by the boys from Brugge.

Incidentally has anyone been to watch Union SG? Their ground looks incredible, proper old-school stadium. Definitely on the bucket list of European stadia to visit.

I've been to the Union ground a few times. My brother used to live in Brussels and he was a regular, so I used to go when I visited him. They were crap then though - 15-20 years a go - in the third division.
Had quite a big Brit following (EU etc) because they were bit quirky, a bit crap and in a wonderful setting in the forest with an amazing art deco main stand.
The main stand is a gem. At half time everyone just piles out of the main stand and goes into the cafe over the road who has the beers poured and ready.
Opposite terrace is where the young lads go and all the singing etc

Sounds fantastic!

Definitely need to sort a weekend in Belgium, bonus that everything is so close and trains so good - could theoretically fit a few games in.

Oostende looks good too, coastal town with Belgian beers on tap, what's not to like?!

Read an article about Union on The Athletic the other day. They sound like a fantastic club. Never knew about their history and how they're one of the most successful Belgian sides ever!
