Mowatt

I like your posts Diego I just think He may be a class act or a good signing just think its overboard to talk a player up after 20 mins. That's all.
It’s not my thread but I can see why people are saying it. He looked really good and made us play better. He will be twice the player of McGree

Think mowatt will take care of the ball better than tav. Who often mispassed the ball and had to chase for it back which he could do because of his industry. Will be interesting to see if our possession stats improve with mowatt in the side

I'm with Wolfman here. Let's not get carried away after 20 minutes. It wouldn't be the first time in recent seasons fans have high hopes for someone early only for those hopes to change to despair.

I don't think anyone is getting carried away. He just looks like he's got a good touch, is tidy in possession and works hard. Had the confidence to want the ball too. Promising.

Hopefully he can work his way into the team and if performances are good, stay there.

Midfield probably worries me more than up front at the moment as there were a number of occasions where their boys just walked straight through to the edge of our box without even encountering a red shirt, let alone a challenge. Still think we could do with some more physicality in the engine room. Howson works hard and does put a foot in but we need a bit more in there for me.

We'd have been better throwing a big wage at him when available on a free.

I imagine it would have been pound for pound better value than 4-6mil on Payero and whatever wage he was on.

He was class at Barnsley. So it's not just based on seeing him for 20mins😂

maybe, I think the issue is that we were not in as good a financial fair play position when he was avail on a free. The stars have now aligned and I think we've got a crackin player and one that works in a wilder system. I've always liked Mowatt as a player even when he was at Leeds. Really likes to press high, loves a tackle, has a great left foot, cares for the ball, plays with his head up. He now has a load of experience allied to that. Howson an Mowatt = 120 passes per game from the middle of the pitch at 85%+ passing. That's a great foundation for any team to get a foothold in a game. I remember when we put 4 past Derby it was the first time in 152 home league game we had scored 4 goals in a game! We won't need to wait long for another one, in fact I think we could absolutely smash a couple of teams this year at the riverside.
