Now I understand why the mackems are so desperate to deny its a derby

My gut feeling is that our record against them isn't too flattering, and could be better than it is; I can recall a couple of late equalisers they've scored against us in fairly recent history (Miller, McManaman), but maybe there's one of two when we've pulled it out at the death too?

Our record is far superior recently

They are redrawing maps too!! We are not in the North East either - I wonder where the North East actually begins....Stockton??;)

And yesterday teatime they did, called it a Derby when I was growing up too, even match day programmes quoted it, probably think if gives them a little ddge when they say it
The only growing up needs to be from the S’land supporters. It is never a derby unless they win is the reality of the matter.

For me, I have Leeds as our main Derby, they are our real Yorkshire rivals, Sunderland are just an annoying neighbour from a nearby troubled council estate, without class or a grasp of reality. They live in the shadows of Newcastle, a far bigger club up the road and us, a far bigger club from a small town in Yorkshire.

When they were chanting you are just a small town in Yorkshire a few including me sang it back too, we should be proud of it, they just don’t understand.
