Michael carrick into 6/1 second fav

I just cannot see how he fits in with the Head of Football, no experienced signings, developing younger players type model we are meant to be on our way down now. One that has caused obvious problems with our previous two experienced 'big name' managers.
I know what you mean but he did seem to get a lot out of players of possibly limited ability. To me that is good coaching and if you have that ability then thats half the battle. Relative to the size of the club and money spent no one can deny his success. The question I suppose is could he do it here with a slightly more expansive style to appease the natives. I would not see him as a Bruce or Warnock type of appointment

It couldn't possibly be Hannes Wolf, could it?
These two things sort of make me hope so, those are both big criticisms of previous mangers and you would think would be beneficial in the developing the signings given to him by the HoF & scouting set-up and for promoting from within from our expensive academy. Or maybe I'm just clutching at straws!

Hannes Wolf is known for his development of youngsters.

Wolf is not a typical modern coach implementing a particular style and staunchly sticking to it. Rather Wolf sets his team to be more fluid — pragmatic, even — and to be adaptable depending on the circumstances. Modern in his own way, Wolf is a coach that is capable of being reactive and adjusting his team in accordance to the situation and the opposition in question.

Apparently Carrick has had other offers in his time away, could be that he just doesn't want to return to football, rather than being a specific Boro related issue?

I'd have Wolf over any other candidate mentioned - fingers crossed!
Turned down the Blackburn and Burnley jobs in the summer apparently.

Looks like we are struggling to convince him to come. I guess this may be a consequence of the relatively new structure we have in place, and getting mangers buy-in. Didn't work with Warnock and Wilder. Maybe third time lucky? If it doesn't work this time, might have to call it a failed experiment and the end of Mr Scott!

Some that didn’t want him will now probably actually want him now they know he’s not coming lol
Football fans anyway moan about what they can have

Again, people are taking such staunch positions on things based on nothing more than internet tittle-tattle and gambling odds. It’s bizarre. Carrick may well have been a contender, one of a group. Edwards, Dyche… it could be anyone. Possibly and probably someone not even mentioned yet. I remember when Mike Phelan was about to take over the day before Karanka popped to out of nowhere.

People using this to slag the club though. AGAIN. Get a grip! Jesus wept. Nobody has any idea who’s on the list, who the club has met, spoken with, have courted or interviewed. Scott wanted this but Gibson said no. Gibson intervened. Scott did it and what’s this and that but the chairman said no to the other. It’s quite mad, watching people pretend to know things and tying themselves up in knots.

Just wait and see. Keep your powder dry. They might surprise us again.
