Carrick now has a month to work with the players before the next game….

He's had a good look at the squad, can get a mini-pre season in & his ideas across..
Maybe even start some Jan loan signing conversations with clubs..
 
Also gives him the chance to work with the recruitment team and sort a couple of January incomings for the start of the window.
 
The break affects every club I wouldn't worry about it.

And it wouldn't surprise me if he gives the squad a week off to recharge and spend time with their families.
 
I actually think the break has come at the right time. We’ve played the same team 4 games in the bounce without much break. We can still field this team and it’ll be fresher. Can’t wait
 
Hopefully get a couple of contract 'issues' looked at. I believe we can activate another year on Akpom? So no real panic (never thought I'd be typing that 😂).

Hackney will no doubt be one they will want tying up on a long term deal. I think his deal is up in the summer.

I'd love us to sign Giles on a perm in Jan. We must still have a couple of quid knocking about from Spence and Tav. I'm not sure what he's worth. I guess maybe to much. Yet 3 years out on loan. They clearly don't fancy him.
