There’s always a new initiative for refs at world cups

At least with the subs they are adding on realistic time, compared to our domestic leagues. However the 10 minutes in the second half of the England game was a bit excessive.
 
All this extra time that the players aren't used to, in this heat, can't be a good thing. We'll all be moaning when we get knocked out with a last minute goal, in normal time, in the 123rd minute :D
 
They just don’t get the momentum thing though do they.
Refereeing has been appalling stopping games for everything.
yesterday the Iran captain was about to take a throw in then sat down injured.
Ref allowed him to have treatment before the throw in was taken.
He was off the pitch and the ball was out of play so should have been treated off the pitch and game carries on without him. Yes they would have been down to 10 men but they didn’t seem to mind England playing with 10 men when Maguire went off with double vision and the paperwork for the sub had to be done before they allowed the sub on.
