English and Welsh morons fighting in Tenerife.

Video footage of England and Wales fans fighting in Tenerife last night. Looked nasty with chairs, bottles and tables being thrown. Will these neanderthals ever learn? They looked so drunk they could hardly stand and it looks a free for all. A few weeks in a Tenerife jail and being charged for any damage to property would make them reflect on their behaviour. It makes you ashamed to be English.

No argument.

I’ve never seen so many people who can’t fight.. get into a fight!?!

Crazy thing is it only takes one awkward punch/fall/slip and somebody could be killed. Lives ruined over what?

I would honestly have no problem watching a match with a fan of an opposition team. I always like to have a chat with opposition fans to find out how they are doing and what they make of our team. It seems perfectly natural and normal to me. It’s completely alien as to why anyone would go windmilling some stranger because they support a different football team.

Football "banter" and "atmosphere" has increasingly embarrassed me as I have got older.

Why is football pretty much the only sport with fan separation? So many people watching it longing for the hooligan days of the 70s and 80s because getting off their heads and fighting is the only way they can communicate your emotions.

Would be great to one day have non-segragated football grounds - actual good natured "banter" and the whole place great for families/no restricted areas where "people should know not to go there with kids".

It’s absolutely pathetic isn’t it, same as the knobheads looking for trouble on nights out in town.

Completely agree with comments on opposition fans, used to love chatting with them on the train home after games and getting their thoughts.

As you say, can't think of any other sport where it's required. Plenty of those have fierce rivalries, bit of needle on the pitch between players and plenty of **** taking between fans.

And for the vast majority of teams we play you can go and mix with opposition fans in the pub before a game with no issues whatsoever.

I would suggest if anyone can't go and watch their team without becoming violent and/or abusive when things don't go their way, then maybe sport isn't for them. In fact maybe a grown up society isn't for them either.

It’s too warm for Stone Island over there. What were they wearing?
You can get Stone Island shorts so probably a knocked off pair of them from the car boot sale with an England top and bucket hat.

Not just the “fighting”, but even the folk who go to away matches and spend the entire 90 minutes staring longingly at the nearest group of home fans, mouthing stuff aggressively at them that they obviously wouldn’t say without barriers, just boggle my mind to be honest.

I remember a couple of years ago at QPR a youngish fan (there with his mam) leaped out of his seat to do a vvanker sign at the home fans when we scored, he wasn’t celebrating the goal at all, it was as if the only thing he remotely cared about was the opportunity to antagonise. I was weirdly almost glad that our goal was then disallowed and he looked daft when they all did it back to him.

It’s not a class thing either. A large proportion of these blokes involved in this stuff (especially with England) are fairly well off flabby 50 year olds who work in well respected jobs.

Not that I’m generalising. 😁

Apparently there was a lot of our 'risk' element up in Edinburgh today.
Hence a large police presence, for a friendly.
I was shocked by the amount of policing for a friendly. I was actually wondering if there had been some sort of intel about Hearts fans getting tickets or something.
