Best steak restaurant's on teesside?

Rio steakhouse is good if you want to try a load of different cuts, but it doesn’t compare the getting an individual steak.

Best steak I’ve had cooked in teesside was at the kings grill. That’s stopped now

In Yorkshire, the Wensleydale heifer cooked a fantastic rib eye, best I’ve had

Rib eye is my go to steak- have that one cooked a bit more to medium rare

The Wensleydale Heifer is outstanding, especially if you fancy some top-quality seafood to go with your Steak, bit of a hike mind. Tomahawk at Potto is decent. RIO outstanding if you fancy a bit of everything.

I’ll second the recommendation for Rio really good snd a really different experience the pace has a great vibe as well.

But for steak I’d say try the black smiths arms in swainby.

A quick shout out for the Peppermill Bistro, Station Rd, Billingham. I had a fantastic steak there but it was, admittedly before lockdown.
However, I have an acquaintance who thinks he's Gordon ramsey and moans his t*ts off about anything he can to get 50p knocked off his bill, goes there all the time for the fillet and grudgingly admits the place is great.
Gets great reviews, well worth a try and is located on Teesside!

Has the Kings Grill closed. If so when. Been to Salburn a couple of times in the last 6 months and thought I had walked past it but thinking back may have cut through the station. Sad if thats the case. Great steaks and other food.

Notice there is no recent posts on Facebook or Tripadvisor.

Yeah, Spoke to Greg on one of our many visits to Rapps and he said it was just not cost effective to reopen Kings Grill after Covid. Instead they have redecorated it and are now using it as an extension to Rapps which isn't a bad thing as the food in there is always good, although more casual dining than Kings Grill was.

You're dead right though the steaks were always fabulous in there, as was the creme brulee.

Ye they sent an email out saying they had stopped and would extend the cafe

It closed just after lockdown I think. It’s just part of Rapps now. Shame -best steak I’ve had was in there.

Rio is ok for Teesside as is Estabulo. Both aren't a patch on fazenda imo but think Newcastle / Leeds are the nearest

Like with all such places, don't fall into the trap of eating too much cheap salad bar items as they're there to fill you up and you can have bread sticks and the like anywhere.
