Tory Councillor celebrates 600k food bank meals

Along with "I've always worked" and "earn your benefits" 🤣 reactionary bingo. Wonder if it'll be don't buy mobile phones and big tellys next or give up smoking and alcohol.

Tory Councillor celebrates 600k food bank meals

Not really a solution for anyone in that situation is it. Nationalisation is the answer. We pay too much for everything in this country. Make public transport free, cheaper energy and water bills, free internet, free school dinners.

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

Ambivalent about an election outcome while this is what the Labour party is. Happy to admit I'm not ambivalent about having a left wing option in out national politics. Thanks for your concern. (y)

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

No it's not. I feel very ambivalent about it. What do you expect me to say? I don't think a Starmer led Labour government will change anything. Why would I be dreaming about that?

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

If the next election comes around in say 2024/25, and your dream result comes true and Labour get a majority, we'll have waited 15 years and all they'll have a mandate for is covid savings bonds. At that point the tories have won. They'll be sat with their feet up while Starmer consolidates...

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

Exactly. I find the brazen hypocrisy hilarious. 'Do as I say not as I do' as usual.

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

What about people who voted them in 2019 after proroguing parliament? When they had a leader who had arranged to get a journalist beaten up, and he was promising oven ready brexit? When they had been talking about id cards and redrawing constituencies for years?

    Tory MP defects to Labour

Good blow to the tories. (y) Concerning with what it says about the Labour Party... (n)😬 Remember Labour kick members out if they're seen praising SNP/Greens/Plaid on twitter.

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

May had the highest approval ratings of any PM since records began when she called the 2017 election. People were confidently predicting a 200 seat majority. That you don't think she's a powerhouse now, is testament to Labour's performance in that election. Boris won London mayor. Twice. And...

Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

You make it sound like it's already happened! Nothing has been gained/lost/turned around yet. I see Starmer was on LBC today. Against nationalisation for energy, against decriminalisation for cannabis. No other policy details as far as I'm aware so the pitch is still just covid investment...

We may have upset a Celtic fan

"Their “importance” comes from geography; they are on one side of the English border and we’re on the other." Pot/kettle. If Celtic played in the English football pyramid they'd be very envious of our 2004 league cup win. If we were an SPL side we'd have a cabinet full of cups and Europe on a...

Ever wondered why the Met won't investigate Johnson's lockdown parties?

If the Met started investigating it now, they'd have to investigate why the police on duty at Downing St did/said nothing at the time. They're covering for their own, as per always.

The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Reading Matchday Thread and Programme

Can't agree. Performed well and unlucky not to be ahead first half. Second half fair enough, nothing special for 25 mins until their goal. After that very intense!

IF you voted Conservative last time

Some absolute madness on this thread. Cor blimey. The things people can convince themselves of. 🤣

IF you voted Conservative last time

 and yet Labour's policy in the 2017 election was to go ahead with a renegotiated brexit, and in 2019 they'd switched to second referendum.

Well worth a trip! Went round it earlier this year. Spotted a copy of FMTTM in the first room as well.
