Manchester City’s victories are absolutely meaningless IMO

Nope, that ship has sailed I'm afraid. I don't care how good the football may be. It means sweet FA to me anymore.

Manchester City’s victories are absolutely meaningless IMO

No I don't and I don't see any contradiction. I don't need to watch football games to be able see what's happening in that division. I stopped watching a number of years ago because I didn't like what I saw. Nothing has changed for the better and if anything its become markedly worse. As much...

Manchester City’s victories are absolutely meaningless IMO

I suppose that's where we differ as I don't consider the PL to be superior in any way. In fact, I my opinion the opposite is true. And no, I don't watch any Premier League matches. I pay as little attention to that division as possible. Why would I when I disagree with everything that it has...

Manchester City’s victories are absolutely meaningless IMO

At 44 years of age I can assure you that I'm not naive. Quite the opposite in fact as I'm extremely cynical of top flight football. The way that the PL has changed since we left it is like nothing we've seen in this country before. It's a complete closed shop and the hope of bagging a couple...

Manchester City’s victories are absolutely meaningless IMO

My first game in the Holgate was 1986 so I'm very much aware of our late 90's history. Comparing our position then, to the position of the likes of Man City now is spurious, in my eyes. The scale of the funds and the deliberate flouting of rules by Man City dont come anywhere near what we we're...

Manchester City’s victories are absolutely meaningless IMO

The top end of football is a joke. I want no part of it. I genuinely dont see being promoted as a good thing for our club. I want to be in a proper league, where obscene amounts of money dont utterly obliterate any chance of a competition. Thats not sport. Thats not football.

Are Google Pixel phones any good?

Me and the wife both picked up Pixel 6's last year(I got the Pro she got the base model). Best phones we've ever had. They always receive Android updates first too. The pictures they can take are exceptional, even the lower spec "A" models have superb camera set ups. I'd defo recommend.

How many FMTTM users have you met in real life?

If we go back to this board's humble beginnings, then I'd easily say hundreds. I've been to the weddings of people I've met on here and they've been to mine. In the days of FMTTM Footy at the Southlands Centre I would regularly have 28 board members playing footy each week. There was also the...

    What Concerns You About Football?

VAR Entire Countries owning football clubs Late changing of fixtures to suit broadcasters (SKY) Ticket prices in general. Far too high, particularly walk up prices. They're very prohibitive to those with less disposable income. I feel this is particularly relevant to Teesside. The...

    Starmers response to rishi pledges

Our two main political parties do not represent the majority of people's interests in this country. They are both in the service of Capital and exist purely to maintain a system that allows the maximum amount of profit to be extracted from this country and its people. The vast majority of the...

    Blackburn commentators on ifollow

I had them on my stream. It made the game all the more enjoyable listening to him whine. He admitted that McGree wound Buckley up to the point he reacted. The very definition of retaliation, which is always a straight red. Whether the ref saw or the 4th official brought it to his attention...

Hate the artist love the art

I did and as much as there are two sides to every story, for me, it didn't excuse some of the abhorrent behaviour that was described and subsequently confirmed by Morris himself. There's no doubt that their relationship was toxic at times, and I appreciate his past didn't provide him with the...

The mystery of Teesside’s dead crabs - Guardian Podcast

Plenty of articles to read on the Tees Valley Monitor blog. It covered the story from the start so I'd recommend taking a look there if you'd prefer to read about it.

Italia 90: When Football Changed Forever

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it. Much more football focussed but some great insights from those interviewed, Gazza in particular.

The mystery of Teesside’s dead crabs - Guardian Podcast

I know a lot on here are fully aware of the situation regarding the crustacean die-off along the Teesside coastline, but for those who aren't aware or not completely up to speed, then I can highly recommend this Podcast from The Guardian that came out today. It gives a clear, concise history of...

    Russia - TraumaZone

I've watched 5 of them so far. All fascinating but very different to Adam Curtis' usual style. Much more chronological than usual, it doesn't constantly jump all over the place, demonstrating the myriad of knock on effects seemingly unconnected decision have. It's much more linear and there's...
