The bank holiday weekend beer and music thread

My missus got me a gift of these, which was very nice of her of course... except little did she know (and nor me until I tried them) that without exception I'm sad to say none of them are any good at all, each being bland, watery and little in the way of taste :(

Things you did as a kid and shouldn't have?

Made all kinds of fires all over the place, probably the worst one was setting fire to my bed Released raw sewage from the sewage works into the stream. I feel really bad about this now, given the state of our streams and rivers but of course it was nowhere near the scale that the water...

    My latest Victor Meldew moment

Went to front room to have sit down with a beer & read a book. Didn't have reading glasses on me, so went to kitchen to get a pair. Went back, couldn't find book, had left it in kitchen. Went back to kitchen, got book, back to front room, couldn't find glasses. Found glasses, but in doing so...

July 4th : End of Dependence Day

Least favourite Cities in the UK

Of course, it's not hard. As mentioned before, somewhere that isn't endless suburbs & conurbation like you have in and around the M25. The criteria of the OP is cities, so villages and small towns don't really count. A large town or city with easy access to the countryside is the main thing...

The correct way to pour beer

The correct way to pour beer

The glass does get full of froth yes, but you walk away and a few mins later it's mostly dispersed. If I was in a pub I'd be frothing at how long it would take ;) but at home there's always something to do while I wait.

The correct way to pour beer

For the past few decades I've always put the glass at an angle and poured it down the side so there's no froth, until you get to the last bit when you tip it back up so you get about an inch of head Then I saw something online saying that's all wrong cos you keep the gas in the beer and it...

Least favourite Cities in the UK

Yes 'lovely' in a middle class home-counties 'The Good Life' Surrey kind of way  I think you've proved my point :)

Least favourite Cities in the UK

Loads...? Such as? I think the proximity to London is more the appeal than their being 'lovely'

Least favourite Cities in the UK

I'd say Luton or any of the towns in the M25 area eg Watford, Slough, Staines etc that have been absorbed into a bleak, never-ending conurbation of suburban housing, light industrial units & warehouses
