    Gibson and Boro's future

The man in the Vatican didn't buy Juninho, so I'm more precious about people talking about Gibson.

    Our final 4 fixtures

If you have hopes of promotion then you're talking about a final 7 fixtures, where only one can be lost. I'm finding it hard to avoid a negative mindset at the moment, thinking that even if we did rally and win the final league fixtures, I've still got those tepid playoff games against Coventry...

    Expressions that mean nothing

You could fill a dictionary with that weird language of nothingness used on Instagram captions. "the .... of dreams" "this one/human" "reached out"

    Where's it going wrong?

I think that some of the moaners who sit around me at the Riverside might be right about this problem when they say we're happy to pass it around and move the ball into these 'dangerous areas,' but nobody seems to have the willpower/nous to actually do something with it. That was essentially...

    Trivial tasks you hate

Deciding what to make for tea. I don't mind the actual chopping, cooking, etc. and enjoy the final product, but deciding what to put on a shopping list or even just making the decision after getting home from work and already having stuff in cupboards...

    Anybody done their family history?

An enormous amount of information will have been put together by people signing up during lockdown and having the time to stitch things together. You'll probably be able to pick up a lot of it by using a site like Ancestry where you can add quite large branches so long as you're sure it's...

Carrick must take great credit for Boro's return to form

I agree completely. Since that terrible run there are some players who have barely featured and I suspect that Carrick has made his mind up on some people for good. Having Howson return has been a major boon too. I'm really not bothered about the times that Carrick has looked blasé about games...

Transporting a frozen kipper across london

Get a gym bag, line it with tin foil and pack the kipper out with frozen peas or the like? Similar concept to using a frozen food bag at the supermarket. When you completely fill it, it seems to keep frozen food like ice cream in better condition for a half hour drive home.

Is George boateng the best defensive midfielder we’ve ever had?

I completely agree. These days he'd have been absorbed by a big club and not fully utilised. It's easy to say we've never replaced Boateng but the fact is that you just couldn't without petro-club budgets.

Man charged with 64 offences in funeral home probe

The prevention of a burial is a charge I've only seen used when, for example, a murderer has dismembered someone and the family won't be able to have a funeral with the whole body buried/cremated. In this scenario, what might it mean? Charging for cremations but just keeping hold of the body...

    Premier league suicide

A lot of these teams getting annihilated really don't seem to help themselves and make the same mistakes we did under Karanka. Playing the exact same way every week, kidding themselves that they have this special identity which must be kept as pure as possible. Spend the cash on defenders? You...

Athletics - pay to represent your country

From the Olympics coverage it seems that the funding is allocated based on the likelihood of medals in events. If a group of athletes in a particular event have a very successful games then more funding is provided for the next Olympiad. Athletes on performance programmes also access funding...

    Brandon Williams

This is something I've considered before. To a club, that player is a very expensive asset and I'm surprised it's not in contracts that they get chauffeurs to avoid accidents as much as possible. Would you let an offshore worker take a speedboat to a platform because they could afford one and...

    FA Cup winner

I really hope Bournemouth win today. Liverpool, Newcastle and someone who hasn't won something for a while seems more competitive for football than the usual selection of cup winners.

    Metro Centre uniform

Just been there myself and it was very cute seeing all those stripes, but I'm really worried that they might spill their tea on them and have to wear dirty shirts when they rock up to the airport during the school holidays wearing the full family kit uniform.

Name a footballer with the initials FT

Some players like Joey Barton and Robbie Savage were called names that would use the initials FT.

    Spin/exercise bike

I've got one similar to that. I use it for about 10/15 minutes to cool down after a run and it's ok for that, but I don't think it'd be comfortable enough for half an hour a few days a week like one you'd use at a gym.

Five nil-nil draws in League 2 today!

Only 15 goals across most of the league playing and 5 of those were at Bradford. The Scottish League 2 had half the games and more goals today. Maybe it's time we looked at a goalkeeper from the clean sheet specialists down in League 2.

Does using social media and this board make you feel better or worse?

I used a lot of forums for music interests, etc in the early 00s wild west of the internet, have had accounts on most social media platforms over the years and still think that this is the most welcoming, supportive and thought-provoking community I've contributed to. For it to have existed for...
