    Pep Guardiola

The Eddie Howe links have puzzled me too. He's got an OK record at Newcastle but if people think he is a better head coach than Tuchel that is a wild take. Do we want a top manager or do we want an English manager - judging by current candidates we can't have both.

Same, on edge (the browser, not my mental state).

Here's CGPT suggestion for a Pep England side, quite like the look of it: Pickford Konsa Stones Colwill Rice Wharton Saka Bellingham Gordon Palmer Kane

Should Tuchel lead the team at Euro 2028?

We retreated far too deep as a five and with a narrow four in front of them, basically gave them the wings. They were good enough to exploit that. We didn't even defend the middle very well, as evidenced by Enzo's goal.

    Joe Hart

I do think there's something in this. His whole tactical approach since taking the job has surprised me. We're incredibly pragmatic with little to no freedom given to creative players, some of whom are among the best in the world in their position. Jude appears to have licence but we've...

A point about bringing on Big Dan Burn when we did

It was always the danger when Martinez came on. His positioning in the box is absolutely brilliant. Of course we should have picked him but it's hardly surprising we dropped concentration after literally trying to defend the edge of the six yard box against the world champions for 40 minutes.

Should Tuchel lead the team at Euro 2028?

I've backed him throughout and continue to do so (just). Don't become a poor head coach overnight. That said, his tactical approach with England has surprised me, compared with his previous roles but the problem is that we'll likely need to wait another 2 years before we face opposition good...

    Yorkshire V Somerset T20

Wait, Somerset won? I'm sure they were six down with a 100 or so to get when I turned over!

    England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v Argentina 🇦🇷 … 8pm (TODAY BABY!!!!)

I've backed Tuchel since he was appointed but I think there is a wider point about his squad/team selection and style of play. At every other side he's managed he's played a pretty fluid vertical attacking style. He manages England and pretty much reverts to Pulis ball at times. It's fairly...

    England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v Argentina 🇦🇷 … 8pm (TODAY BABY!!!!)

Naive in the extreme tonight. Got away with it for ten mins against a poor Mexico side but was never gonna work for 30 against the world champions.

    England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v Argentina 🇦🇷 … 8pm (TODAY BABY!!!!)

We're the better side and we need to remember that and exert it, quick. If we don't Martinez will crucify us. Can't believe he doesn't start for them.

    England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v Argentina 🇦🇷 … 8pm (TODAY BABY!!!!)

I'll take that first half. Argentinian antics a massive compliment to England. Scared of our ability and know they can't beat us with the ball. The only thing that beats England from here is England.

    Argentina will target Bellingham tonight.

Never have I been happier having a 9-5 job than reading that description of events.

A new transfer link - Otto Rosengren

I'd agree with this, Scandinavia in general appears to be a good feeder market for clubs at our level. A lot of the young players will get snapped up by bigger clubs (Bergvall, Isak etc) but there are options for established players looking to make the step up into a better league. I don't...

    Argentina will target Bellingham tonight.

Same, all part of the game - appreciate a lot of people wish it wasn't but until the laws change need to take it as we find it. As for tonight, imagine Paraguay v France but without the upstanding sporting behaviour 😂

That's the reason I'm heading back first thing Sunday ha. Out of interest, are there flights from Glasgow to JFK on a Saturday night? 😉

How do you solve a problem like Spain?

Distances are critical when playing Spain - their press last night was absolutely excellent and probably won them the game. Time and again French players were getting isolated 1 v 2 or 3, you've got no chance of retaining possession if that happens. A compact midfield three might be the way...

    Max Arfsten

Yep, there's little differentiation between a modern full back and wing back, particularly in an attacking sense. He's left footed I assume? Which would make me question him playing as a winger, or more accurately as an inside forward on the left (we expect our wide attacking players to come...

    Argentina will target Bellingham tonight.

Can't wait to see him at full time, running to centre circle with a 50ft Falklands flag, Souness style, to plant it in the centre spot.
