    That Mark Hollis thread

My fave track of Talk Talk, although not the best version of it. Still superb tho! It was a week or so before my finals at Uni so I didn't go. I really really wished I had. Did anyone on here go to this gig?? RIP- He had a wonderful voice. Still my favourite band ever.

FA Cup 2nd Round Buxton vs Morecambe

Massive day here tomorrow. The whole town is buzzing. My eldest works for the Chairman's company + had a look over the pitch today. He's played a few times for them. My youngest's best mate's dad died a couple of weeks ago, and was connected to the club. There will be a mention and applause. His...

    Kieron Dyer

Hope all will be well with him. That BBC headline isn't the best. Everytime I've looked at it I think it reads 'died in hospital' If they put the 'Kieron' in then that wouldn't happen. Edit- I've just noticed that when you click on it it does say Kieron Dyer, but the title on the website doesn't

A different sort of build up

I'm not into bible stuff or praying, but I pulled this book of my shelves to read(again) before tomorrow. Kind of think of it as my bible or hope book, if you like. For anyone who has never cast eyes over it, it's superb and really stands the test of time. It sums Gareth up in terms of raw...

Bands who were better live than in the studio

Doesn't have to be all inclusive. Genesis Seconds out is an album full of it. This track is a million times better than the studio version, morbid as it is. BJH were quite good at raising their act in front of an audience. Of course, you have to be of an age..... :)

    Music Nostalgia

Some of Erimus 74 nostalgic music posts have brought me here. This song is so evocative of my very young years. Immortalised in the 'Italian Job' I give you the only British singer who Sinatra rated. Just love this song, the car and scenery ain't bad either :)
