    "These things even themselves out"

Interesting idea. They got rid of offside in hockey years ago. At the time I remember thinking it was going to result in goal hanging. In reality people tried that for a bit, bit the striker often ended up being out of the game. Admittedly it's harder to get a hockey ball up to a striker than...

What book are you currently reading?

I'm just about to start that. 'The Evening and the Morning' by Ken Follet was also enjoyable.

Cardiff away ticket details - 2,280 tickets, £11 for an adult

😠😠 - I hope this great value pricing doesn't stop it from getting to general sale!! (I suspect it's to try and encourage a crowd to an otherwise fairly 'dead' game for both teams).

    Cardiff away

Last away game. Nicer late April weather. Excellent city for a night / weekend away! (Sounds like it should be OK though). Edit: All that said, it's likely to be a 'dead rubber' for both teams.

    Cardiff away

Still no sign of tickets. Just over two weeks to go. I hope it makes it to general sale.

    Birmingham 2nd bottom

I'd say loser definitely relegated, and winner quite possibly relegated also!

    Team tonight

4 points would still be too many IMO. Norwich could scarcely have a better run in. (Still I suppose we did our best to throw it away and drew our last four in 2015/16)!! We need to overtake Norwich, Covo , Preston and Hull*, and there's five games left. I can't see it. *With their game in hand...

    Masters

"Bhatia wins Masters, as shock outsider..." (Been watching him the last few weeks on the PGA Tour, and he's in good form).

    Darts:

If you've only been playing 2 years and have that many 180s, then you've clearly got a LOAD more talent for it than I have!! Nice. I was playing round the clock doubles with a friend yesterday. (We play that if you get three in a row (eg. 4, 5, 6) you stay on). Twice I pinged the first two, but...

    Anyone else unable to sleep?

Not wanting to sound like your mams, but being on your screens during the night definitely won't help with sleeping :( (Incidentally I'm regularly awake for an hour or two between 2-4am (but never go on my phone))* *OK, for full honest disclosure, I did look at one text last night, but it's...

    Darts:

I think they land in the board alright actually. My grouping is better too. Still miles worse than I should be though! (Which then takes us back to the just being sh*t comment). What's that expression... if you take enough time you can even polish a tu*d?

    Darts:

Thank you. I like Wayne Mardle. (Amuses me when he corrects people who pronounce it 'Mardell'). I've watch his series. In fact I've watched more YouTube darts videos than any middle aged man ought to!

    Darts:

Yeah, follow through, particularly on my third dart is a weakness. Thank you.

    Darts:

I think it's more than a possibility. I think it's becoming a probability! I've always been good at sports, but I'm realising that was because I was fast/athletic, with good balance. I started darts at the same time as a mate who I used to think was crap at sports... (because he was a slow...

    Darts:

Thx for the above. I've tried multiple weights, shapes, sizes. Think I'm on 24g now. (I've spent a good while with each type, not flitted around like 'Snakebite' seems to these days)! I tend to focus on throwing straight. Even that isn't as easy as it should be. I've tried moving on the oche. I...

    Darts:

Darts players. I was just wondering if anyone could offer any good tips please? I bought a dart board at the start of lockdown with the intention of getting decent... but I'm still rubbish. Good enough to have a laugh with mates in the pub, and finish on doubles (eventually)! Occasionally hit a...

    Late away points

West Ham away in 1989 was decent. (Two Slaven goals in injury time to win 2-1).

    New parkrun World Record

They haven't exactly 'nipped it in the bud', since ParkRun has been going since 2004, and they've had stats and records for much of that time. There were various pros who held course records around the country for many years, but also plenty of amateurs. (Andy Buchart beat Andy Baddeley's all...

    New parkrun World Record

It's alleged to be due to them coming under pressure to introduce a 'female at birth' category, after some trans athletes had broken women's course records in a few places. (I suppose by having no records or stats, it gets them out of the bother of that). ParkRun's official line was that the...
