£22bn Track & Trace

Only because it was carried out and coordinated by the NHS and not one of Hancock's mates 😷
Was about to post the exact same thing not like tories to claim full credit for other peoples hard work. Maybe we should start applauding Hancock & his team for working so hard in picking up the phone to the relevant person within the NHS & saying "we'll leave it in your capable hands then"

When I was little every child in the country had to have a polio jab. That is EVERY,SINGLE,CHILD.. This was accomplished without the self congratulating, boasting politicians claiming credit for something that was needed.
What was the sugar lump for?

But it had the vaccine policy right
I'm fairly sure that's not definite yet. We're currently at fingers-crossed on the success chart.

We're hoping that getting a first-dose out to everyone isn't going to be undone by not getting the second-doses out early.

They've done well with the numbers and the hospitalisation rates are going down. Hopefully it's enough.

That’s alright then. It took one gamble on its vaccine policy that paid off. That offsets all the needless deaths, that offsets the billions sent to Tory donors instead of companies that could have helped us during the crisis. That offsets slow actions in lockdowns and ignoring scientific advice that has caused more deaths. That offsets spending ten years slowly dismantling the NHS so it can’t cope that has caused more deaths. That’s all ok because one on single solitary aspect of the Covid nightmare we are “beating” Europe. Dear good lord in heaven.
Imagine voting for them. Oh sorry forgot you did didn’t you? Dear good Lord in heaven.

Don’t understand why we couldn’t use the system the other countries used and we had to develop our own which blatantly doesn’t work

Test & trace should have been built on the existing local authority infrastructure, which by law has to have emergency planning resilience.

Building the system from nothing was, and always will be, so clearly flawed.

But then maybe there was another reason why public funds bled into the private purse?

This is such an important thing, even now they really need to evaluate what is working and what is failing. Going forwards, to avoid a lockdown as cases lower this is so important.

Lockdowns aren't the longterm answer, as they cause carnage- track and trace, good public health monitoring and a system that can identify spikes/ transmission early IS fundamental to normal life- and a year on it seems a way off still.

Not like you to mention Brexit.

This government is corrupt, I get that. But it had the vaccine policy right, Germany France Spain and the EU didn't.
Have a look at the deaths per head of population, theirs is about half ours. The difference is they didn't have Johnson and his clique running the job..
