22 Golds

Nobody predicted 22 golds.

I thought 10-11 was a target which would have been ok. But 22 and without the help of rowing or athletics to the gold tally is just fabulous.

The Euros contrasted with Team GB shows me how much prouder and stronger we are united as a kingdom. But I guess you also have to take into account footballers vs sportsmen and women that only get recognised once every 4 years. I know I'd prefer that over the millions in the bank and fame anyway.

For a country of our size the results are truly outstanding. Across a wide area of disciplines it does demonstrate all round talent and expertise.

Well done and congratulations- they really have done us proud.
 
The target was 14 gold medals I think. It’s a brilliant achievement from the team. 22 golds without the usual wins in rowing too.

Know what you mean. I’m going to miss this sporting fix every night. My sleeping patterns have been distinctly out of kilter.
