3 Best/most exciting non-boro players you've seen at the riverside

Kinkladze
Crouch funnily enough when Southampton beat us 3 - 1 he was unplayable that day up against Southgate and Ugo Ehiogu
Vieira maybe not the most exciting but he had Emerson in his back pocket all day when I thought Emerson was going to be world class

Henry, Bergkamp.

Its probably Ronaldo, but I'm going to say Son: I think he was the only player who made me think "wow, he's much better than I thought" last time we were in the PL
Yea Son was absolutely class that day.

Another one who impressed me at the riverside that season was Jordan Henderson, he made the game look absolutely effortless.

Regardless how bad we were that season it still takes some doing - to make playing CM at premier league level look that easy.

Berbatov when at Spurs is always the one I rave about to people, he was amazing

Son, Crouch and Henderson are great shouts above too

There's the obvious candidates of Henry, Bergkamp, Torres etc as well. Almost impossible to name just three!

I’m going left field (well, centre back to be accurate) with Tony Adams, he was a thing of grace to watch, drift left and right watching the game flow, then BAM he would pounce when he saw danger. Almost beautiful and deadly at the same time.

Saw flashes of the same in Woody at his best.

Henry when ever he played was always a cut above.
Going back a bit further to Ayresome Park, I'm sure that Noel Brotherston and Darren Anderton would get plenty of mentions.

Thierry Henry, Mido a season or so before we signed him. He absolutely battered our defence and the Sporting Lisbon midfielder, was it Viana or something like that, they ran us ragged in the first half.

The guy I remember from the Lisbon match was Rudolph Douala, whom we were subsequently linked with.

I don't think he was all that really though, he never did much after, so maybe we just caught him on a good night?

I always remember seeing Fernado Torres play for Athletico Madrid in a pre season friendly. I guess he was 'known' yet late teens or early 20s.

He ran Southgate and Ehiogu ragged for 45mins. I remember by dad saying 'we should sign him'. I'm thinking no chance as he's the hottest young property in Spain.

He went on to do alright😂

That's the guy, Douala. The question is only asking the best or most exciting at the Riverside it's not asking about his whole career though. I agree we probably did catch him on a good night, but what a night it was. I even enjoyed the return match in Lisbon, even though we lost.
