5th Ashes Test Hobart

Root is a very poor captain who makes poor decisions, leaving him as captain because no one else is guaranteed a place in the team is rubbish decision. Pick a specialist captain, he can’t do any worse than. The specialist batsmen.

Silverwood to go is the easiest decision to make - **** poor
Who?

Agree….Pick a specialist captain. Morgan would do it. He’ll get some runs too, something we can’t say for most of these guys.

Silverwood out, no brainer. It’s no coincidence the one battling draw (albeit helped by rain) was the one in which he was away isolating.

…oh and never ever forget to remind the Aussies of sandpaper gate. The last serie over there should have been made null and void

Who then?

Sorry Jonny but I disagree that the rise of linited overs cricket is the sole cause of England's demise. As has been pointed out red ball cricket in both India and NZ has given way to the prominence of white ball cricket but the Test teams have improved immeasurably in the last 5 years.

You need a blueprint for test cricket in England which strategises how you turn it around.
To be fair I'm hardly a cricket guru, so I'll bow to your superior knowledge :) (y)

Who would take over as captain?

Root has been looking a bit sick, I think he may offer his resignation but be asked to stay as there is no better option at present.
Stokes.
That was shocking and tbh I saw no fight.
He's good at that.

Sent home with a smacked arce again.

Maybe better than the cracks being papered over and the case for change being in any way diminished.
Hang on a minute there mate, I'm confused.

Are you suggesting that the English lads haven't been papering their cracks well enough and
that this is why they have struggled running between wickets? :ROFLMAO:
You might be onto something there, it makes as much sense as anything else.(y)

There’s a massive problem with England culture. Especially since 2010. The ashes is seen as the pinnacle and we talk about getting ourselves ready for it in between each one, and we turn up and get spanked every time

who is coaching these players how to bat
