9am Kit Release!!

I sent an email to the club a while ago and asked whether the club would consider enlisting the help of students at Teesside University to design potential shirts, which would then be voted on by season ticket holders.

This keeps a connection to the area, it gives students invaluable experience and the fans get a say too.

Surely it’s got to be better than this disappointment season after season. That shirt is horrible.

It also completely ignores the company that's paid for the "privilege" of manufacturing our shirts and also ignores their ability to actually make the designs too.

What, the students ability to make the designs?

I’m pretty sure they could have cooked up better than that. They also have the capability of making the shirts.

Designed in Middlesbrough, made in Middlesbrough, voted for by Season Ticket holders.

How is this a bad idea?

No, the manufacturer who has paid to make our kits. Or are you suggesting the students knock up a few thousand kits too ?

I assume the students are going to pay for the privilege of making them too, to replace the money we'd lose from Errea ?

What was their response to your email.

66/1 you're still waiting ?

They sent me one back pretty instantly to be fair, said preparations were well in advance and there were a lot of league regulations they had to abide by in terms of design etc.

Yes, why not? There are textile companies in Middlesbrough that would have the capability of doing it. So why not? Everything hasn’t been done before until it’s been done.

And that’s what this is all about, money. There’s no connection to the area, it’s just a manufactured shirt that they’ve used Ravanelli to wheel out in the hope it’ll temper just how disappointing it is.

So you're effectively saying the club should focus on manufacturing kits and all the challenges that go with it (legal, logistics, commercial etc) as well as trying to run a football club focused on promotion. I wonder why they didn't retain the Skill brand if it's as easy as you're suggesting.

Of course it's about money, are you new to the game of football ?

Tbh I actually thought he looked I’ll in that video, lost loads of weight imo

He does a lot of cycling with ex professional cyclist Mario Cippolini, which gives me the excuse to post some real sports kit shockers.
