Been off work last couple of days , with diarrhoea ( sorry for to much info haha!)

woke up today sneezing and with a stuffy nose and I know they aren’t main symptoms of Covid but it’s worried me, so decided I’m gonna wait until office opens then ring my manager for advice rather than just turn up like that. Would you say that is the best thing to do?

Yep

I would do as you suggest, absolutely. Then apply for a test for covid, belt and braces. Take care mate, hope alls well soon (y)

Thanks Col, Definetly the best thing to do but a part of me feels nervous and embarrassed but I shouldn’t feel like that really

Have you got an opportunity to drive to Barnard Castle? I believe this is the definitive medical test of a persons wellness.

In all seriousness though mate, stay off and ring in and monitor it, if no better go the medical route.

We have procedures in place and temperature testing at the point of entry on our site. If anyone fails temp check there is a big lockdown and cleaning / sterilising procedure that sounds like a PITA so you are better staying off till you know.

Update, just phoned 111 and have to apply for a test.

They said the fact I have a foul smell when I sneeze could be a sign of Covid

Better to be safe and cover yourself. Last thing you want to do is bring bugs into work at the moment. Get well soon!

Nope, unless your manager is a doctor, is trained in Covid or works for 111.

Ring your doctor or 111, and then have them make a decision. They will probably arrange for you to get tested, if need be.

So you've been going to work? That obviously could have repercussions. Hope you're okay and get a negative result but if not, according to statistics, you should be still be ok (easy for me to say!) There must be plenty of folk in your situation. I myself have had occasional sneezing and mildly fluey, sore gum but feeling better today.
Fckin dilemma. Mind I haven't been or needed to go to work.

Can also be a sign of a sinus infection too. Don't stress out. It'll all be fine.

that’s probably what it will be, I’ve been told just wait and see what the results are and work are more than happy with that . Feels strange being off when your not that Poorly but guess that’s what we have to do at times like this

no I was off Monday and Tuesday with a bug, then today I woke up sneezing and a foul smell coming out when sneezing so I was slightly concerned it could be covid so rang work to tell them then rang 111 and 111 said withe the foul smell best to get tested so have to get tested and wait for results before going back to work which work are totally fine with.

I feel a bit embarrassed about it all but end of the day , it’s not worth the risk .

I had a sore throat and did the online test and self isolated for a week,it did feel bizarre staying off work with just a sore throat, but definitely better safe than sorry,.
I'm sure you'll be fine block, take it easy mate

Yes medical advice 1st then a call to work, uncertain times we live in, plus no one would thank you if you did go to work telling them your symptons

Hopefully the test will come out negative (y)

Yeah that’s how I’m feeling mate, feel like I’m letting people down but I’m sure they would rather me be away from office incase it’s positive and I pass it on. Did you get a negative test?
