Aftershave advice

What are your recommendations? And do you have a website?
It's https://www.thatfragranceguy.co.uk

the one that's consistently popular is creed Aventus. If you're used to standard designers it will appear expensive but it is good and a lot stronger. Creed is the brand and they have several very good lines like Aventus, green Irish tweed, oud royal, virgin island water

I just got some Kosmala no 4 in which is very similar to baccarat rouge 530, it's nuclear and you can smell it next day

i do a few designers but it's mostly the high end niche ones we focus on

if you want to stick to designer then dior sauvage, blue de Chanel, dior Homme and paco rabanne 1 million are safe bets.

best to try before you buy tho, and nearest place selling creed is probably metro Centre, newcastle or leeds, but if you want to come try some you're welcome

Incidentally from the name of the thread, one of the biggest mistakes guys make with fragrance is buying actual aftershave.

Usually comes in an open top splash style bottle.

this is literally designed to be used after a shave and the fragrance won't last that long.

edt is the next strength up and is what most designer fragrances are - usually a spray top

above that you have edp which most womens and most mens high end fragrances are, and above that you gave parfum, extrait etc which is where it gets very pricy

but generally avoid actual aftershaves unless you're using them as intended as you won't smell them 10 minutes later

And avoid FM/Essens etc like the plague, they're absolute kranks.

I have a few Tom Fords which I like as well as Boss and a few other big names but Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet is my go to when I need to smell nice.

Yeah Tom Fords are a fairly safe bet. They do a designer range and the Private Blend range, the private blend range are, for the most part, very strong but sometimes a bit more niche in scent but some of the strong ones are very good for this sort of cold weather.

Got a bottle of Paul Smith out of Home Bargains for £20 the other week, decent enough. Add that to my Cool Waters bottle and that'll see me for the next 12 months. Both spray tops as fragrance guy mentions.
If you like Cool Water you should check out Green Irish Tweed, its a lot more expensive but you can pick up decants fairly cheap of it if you look about. its a much higher quality version

I'm exactly the same - I have PS, CW and a bottle of Joop that my mother-in-law got me last Christmas! :ROFLMAO:

@ThatFragranceGuy Could you link me to Kosmala? I can’t find it on the site. Also, any plans to stock Penhaligons Halfeti ? Only 100ml on their website, that would take me years to use given the strength of it but it’s one of my favourites

I've not put it on yet! If you wanted to try it I can drop you a PM. Someone asked me about Halfetti before but its hard to get at a decent price and 100ml is the largest they seem to do, generally get the economies of scale when it can be either sourced cheaply or in big 250ml or 500ml sizes but I'll have a look about!

Just been on the site and selected a 50ml of the Creed but when trying to purchase it asked for state in the US. Am I on the right site or is there a way to make it a Uk purchase?

I bought exactly the same and didn't get asked anything like that, just went to checkout and added card details

Doh, I just realised you can change the country!!! All done, if I like it I might try that Creed Amalfi

Sorry about that - its fine for most people but its just a template site - the reason I ask that though is our post system is practically impossible to send perfume abroad yet we can receive it, which is weird, so I need to ask to stop people from ordering :)
