Thing is I know Morris is saying he's staying there, but Hackney still had two years on his contract when we accepted a bid for him (sounds nuts even repeating that tbh), if that had been a prem club he might have went.
If we get a daft offer for Morris the club would consider it though, as much as it pains me to say it. The club can say, "we want the money, we want you to go" and in that case he probably would go if it was the prem, why wouldn't he. He might turn down a parachute payment side though, like Hackney did.
TBH I think Morris matters more to us at the minute, than Hackney did a year ago. Might even be the case now, we manage ok without Hackney, but if we didn't have Morris we would have been completely ****ed I think.
That's not me saying Morris is better than Hackney though, or has a higher ceiling, I don't think that, but I think they're a lot closer ability wise for their respective roles than people realise. That no 6 role is massive for us, slightly more important than no 8 maybe.
The only thing Morris can't do is shoot, but I don't even care about that from a no 6 really.
He's rated highly now, but there are still plenty of clowns around saying he's a slow passer or not progressive, yet he's still 90% percentile for progressive midfielders, which is nuts for a 6. One of the most underrated players in the league imo, the best no 6 we've had in the champo, that I can remember.
